Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Would have made a lot more sense if we had drafted him with one of our 3 2nd round picks back in 08. I know a lot of us talked about it back during that draft class.
I agree. I expect an offer to be made but it won't be anything near what he'll get on the open market. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a little insulted by the Skins offer actually. Speed wide receivers typically don't age well.
Correct me if I am wrong but he seems to either miss games or not playing at 100% percent a little too often to be paid with higher end receivers. To me if a guy is on the level of a $10 mil a year player but 1/3 of the time has an issue that effects his efficiency he just became worth $7 mil or less. On the other hand having like $67 mil in cap space I am going to be pissed if Garcon and D-Jax are both allowed to leave. |

Hey fellas the Jets released Mangold. I know he is older, but at the right price, do you think we should go for it?Jets release longtime center Nick Mangold - NFL.com

Hell no. Spencer long is the future at center. Unless mangold can play left guard |

I would give PG 3 years... $25 million... $10 million guaranteed. He will probably get more elsewhere. Garcon is going to go down hill quickly in a few years. Half of the cap space could be gone signing KC and Baker. So if they sign their own, there is not much left for defensive free agents. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
I think PG will get more money on the open market than he'd get here. Everyone loves what he brings to a team but at 8 million? I'd have to say goodbye to him for that price, if he gets an offer like that.
If cousins stays, I'll take PG up to a 9 per year deal. If we let cousins walk and don't make a play for jimmy G, then I wouldn't bring back garçon. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
McCloughan's BPA philosophy means you can end up with a glut at one position, which means you need to be prepared to say goodbye to some players at that position.
We took Doctson high for a reason. We cannot bring back both Garçon and Jackson or we would be wasting either Crowder or Doctson. I would negotiate with both, one will end up more affordable than the other. See if that price is fair, and if so sign him and say goodbye to the other. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
My buddy just sent me a message and said that on bleacher report there's an article about cousins going to the nines along with our 17th pick in exchange for their 2nd pick. Can't load the page on my phone, so I don't have a link.

I would be shocked if that happened. If the Redskins trade KC they can get much more than an improved position in the same round. |

If that scenario happened and we just moved in the first. The level of just pissed offness with this team, I think I would have to go the emergency room for blood pressure. This makes zero sense |

I've never been on BR...I usually check out keims articles on espn.com, and haven't seen anything of any of this there...was kinda hoping someone said they were garbage...

Several places, including B/R, have reported that a trade could include the 2nd and 17th overall picks. No one, including B/R, is suggesting those are the only pieces to a possible trade |

We would get 2 more picks I would hope. |

That is good because if we ever did trade our starting quarterback, who happens to be the best quarterback we have had since Joey T, just to move up 15 spots I would seriously start to question my own existence. |

Honestly....it would be really difficult to continue to root for this team. |

gotcha...Looking at what the Rams gave, Eagles gave, And we have a PROVEN commodity....the bottom along with a say move up from 17th to 2 is next years 1st round pick. As well as this year's 3rd round pick and another late round pick next year (4-7). That's to me the bottom. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
The idea of Colt McCoy being our started next year is exciting to me as watching a 3 hour dance recital in which my daughter only performs for 5 minutes of the recital.

I know Jackson's speed helps spread a defense, but he's aging, so is Garçon but DJ seems more injury prone, and even when healthy, Pierre has been way more reliable than him imo. |

I was thinking the origin of this was merely a personal opinion of a reporter for the NFL Network, and not so much that this is actually being discussed? |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Antonio Brown just got $17 million per year. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2017/02/steelers-antonio-brown-extension
PG and DeSean probably expect $10+ million now |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
If I had to make a trade this would be bottom line..49ers #1 this year(2cnd overall) and next years #1 or they can stick it..no swapping our pick or any such crap is that..and Im not sure we would come out on top in fact i would rather keep Kirk!

I think that ship has sailed. My money says that he wants to be traded, he wants to get away from the dysfunction. He likes playing for Jay Gruden but he may not be here next year (Gruden), so i think that weighs on him. Or he can go and play for Shanahan who is at least going to get 4 years, where he plays in the same system and plays for a guy who he has always worked well with. He will be their true Franchise QB and he will never again have to worry about going year to year like he does here |

We were talking about Desean Jackson here ^^ But I admit these days when someone talking about the Redskins says "he" without any other indication, "he" ought to be Kirk Cousins ^^ |

Excellent! I have a feeling Nsekhe is going to play quite a bit this year. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
Increased role for Nsekhe could mean starting tackle. I know this idea is frowned upon around here, but what if that means LT? Moving Silverback to LG would be unconventional but it could make our OL stronger. While we're at it, we could sign Nick Mangold to a two year contract. Then the starting OL would look like this:
Nsekhe Williams Mangold Scherff Moses |

You can only start or be a reserve and he's no interior lineman. Would he replace Moses? I wouldn't necessarily move Trent but I'm wondering what the Skins might do to improve their overall OL play. Trent would go from being the best LT in the game to being the best LG in the game. Once we get Mangold, draft Leonard Fournette, and move Trent next to Mangold, we'll have a beastly running game. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents List
I'd like to see B Logan come aboard, Poe as well but he'll be expensive

Brandon Marshall asked for and was granted his release by the Jets. Reported by profootballtalk.com today.

Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
I could imagine that. I'd love to have FA RB LaGarrett Blount to run the ball in short yardage but you'd probably need a stick of dynamite to blast him out of NE. |

Marshall is now the best WR on the market followed by Jeffery. Now PG and DJax will have to settle for less than they want IMO. Plus deep WR class |
