Re: Redskins 2018 Off Season Re/Signings
I think some of these needs become less of an urgency if the team is healthy:

Every player whose name I bolded below is a UFA. We cannot assume that any of them will be re-signed even if the FO wants to sign some of them.

1. A Left Guard: Yes we do need an upgrade at LG, I hope we sign/draft one. But healthy, our OL is capable, it's not like Lauvao is Catalina... Long can also play guard if Roulier steps it up at center. I agree it's a need. But it's not a gaping roster hole.

FA's Lauvao and Long are long gone. Nobody else can play a lick. Jay Gruden says we need a LG. It is a gaping hole.

2. A run-stopping DL: We could use an upgrade, I do hope we draft one DT in the first 2/3 rounds. But remember when Allen and Ioannidis were healthy? Our defense looked way better.

We need a big, fat-ass NT.

3. A capable starting RB: no arguing this one. I said over and over sign Crowell, or Lewis.

4. A WR who is a deep threat: no arguing this on either. This is a MUST. I'd say FA (or trade... Bryant for Cravens and a 4th?).

5. A pass rusher to complement Ryan Kerrigan: if we can bring Galette back at a fair price, and the inside pressure is there, I can live with Kerrigan on one side and Galette rotating Smith opposite.

I don't expect Galette to be re-signed and I think Smith is a fraud as an OLB.

6. A TE who can and will block: we sure could use one. But Sprinkle may very well develop into that guy.

7. Another starting ILB: assuming we bring Zach Brown back, I'm not sure I agree. Brown and Foster are legit starters. Zach Vigil played really well when he stepped in, I think what he did for us is under-appreciated because he came in when we pretty much had lost any hope in our season. And Spaight is a capable back up.

We don't have Brown yet. Vigil was a pleasant surprise. Spaight isn't very good at all.

8. A slot corner: I do hope we draft one. But as said above, Norman, Breeland, Moreau and Dunbar is not a group of CBs that we should feel uncomfortable with.

Breeland isn't signed yet. He could be the slot corner if signed but he isn't signed.

9. A PR/KR: OK... I admit I forgot about this issue...

10. Probably something else I forgot: Maybe... Some will say fire every one from the HC to the water boy if we want to stand a chance at anything... But I don't see anything else.
Re: Redskins 2018 Off Season Re/Signings

You're absolutely right. I forgot Lauvao was a FA (we talked about it many times but... Mental fluke).
So we absolutely have to land one, good ones are available in FA, and I think that's a position you can expect to draft and start immediately.

My reasoning was based on the fact that we'd sign Brown and Breeland. If we don't we have to find replacements in FA.

I also assume Long can be signed relatively cheap. He's among my must re-signed guys. Good polyvalent OL, must have.
Its "Taylor ham" on a Kaiser lol
Love Taylor Ham and American Cheese on a hard roll with butter and mustard. Easy to order in Long Island, not so much in South Carolina.

Have worked in a golf grill kitchen sort of part time for the past 10 years (I take most of my pay in free golf), and we put together a homemade meatloaf sandwich with bacon and American cheese melted over it. All on a toasted Kaiser roll, the whole thing about 6 inches tall.

Big seller!

I would think they would prefer "Scrapple"? I moved from NJ to MD 38 years ago and first heard about scrapple and asked what it was? I was told it's everything that doesn't go into sausage ,I swore I would never eat it and I never have!
fry an egg and put it between the ham and cheese = win
Obviously an egg on just about anything makes it a win, but the egg overrides the ham and makes it an egg sandwich in my book. If we’re talking ham sandwich, have to leave the egg off.

Don't know how much he'll demand but he's a solid receiver. Not sure about his deep threat though.

You may be right, I don't love that option either.

But the number of #1WRs available in FA is shrinking. Landry got tagged, Watkins might get tagged.
I read we could go after a guy like Paul Richardson, I like the idea of getting a young talented WR, but are we positive he's going to be our #1 ?

Not likely, but I wouldn't hate it if we tried to trade for Jarvis Landry.
If, like in the Smith trade, we were guaranteed to sign him long term, it would be a costly option, but on the long run, having a 25 years old Pro Bowler on your roster could turn out to be a good choice.
Miami wasn't exactly great against the pass, maybe Cravens and pick(s) could get us Landry?

(Again I know it's unlikely).

Sammy Watkins might be a good fit for us. He's a deep threat with good hands (he only dropped one pass last season). He's only 25 years old.

But yeah if available he'd probably be our best option.

Seems like it's always something w/ Sammy Watkins. He'll be the classic boom or bust signing in free agency.

I'd want Paul Richardson. Richardson and Doctson catching bombs from Smith sounds nice, and should really open middle of field for Thompson, Reed, Crowder, Davis, etc.

I am not paying big money for Paul Richardson if I am the Skins. DJ Chark could do the same thing he does in the draft.

Well yeah, any signing the money has to be right as well. I don't think his contract will be outrageous. We'll see in a little more than a week.

Note - I like Chark as well and if we don't sign a WR, if hes available 4th round or later I'd take him.
