His options are definitely limited now...and I can only HOPE he reaches out to other cities so he can hear them say....ugghh no thanks we have no interest in YOU bringing a team here. SELL THE TEAM DAN!!!! |

In your rational mind, how many other politicians of cities that could support an NFL team do you see begging Dan Snyder to bring the team there? |

Its going to suck if they end of having to sign an extension to play even longer at our current shithole stadium. |

London - Commanders would be an overwhelmingly popular European name, and they are used to mediocre American football |
Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
I said this on Twitter, but I didn't think what JDR said rose to the level of action being needed. Was what he said stupid? Absolutely. Does he have shitty politics? Fuck yeah. Is he ignorant as fuck? Damn Skippy.
Him brushing off Jan. 6th isn't on the same par as saying something racist or bigotry. If we fined/fired everybody for every ignorant thing they said, unemployment would be through the roof. JDR should know better though, and knows that kinda bullshit was going to blowback on him. That said, I want the guy fired because he's a dinosaur when it comes to defensive schemes and he's a shitty DC. |

Even Hogan is backing away. That makes all three place's withdrawing support. Sit back wait a few years and then try again. |

I can see a bunch of cities wanting an NFL team no matter how screwed up the team is. St. Louis, San Antonio, Memphis, OKC quickly come to mind. |

There's no way the get a new stadium in the DMV by 2027. |
Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
Maybe the best thing is This team moving .. then we can spend the next how many years wishing we had a team to bash …. Just saying
|
Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
I think most fans would rather start over with an expansion team in DC with a new owner vs this Snyder led shit show
|
Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
Sadly you are probably correct … but who’s to say we would even get another team .. a new owner would make more sense but I don’t see that happening..

DC would have no problem getting a new team if the league expanded and Snyder left, it's a primo market. No, it's likely not happening we're just talking hypothetically. |

I'm pretty sure Bezos would be interested if Dan wanted to sell and I'll bet he would be allowed to build where ever he wanted in DC, MD or VA. |
Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
Best case I think the new stadium will end up right next to FedEx
|

He would have to foot the bill for the stadium which is sofa cushion change to him. DC has made it abundantly clear that the return on investment for taxpayer dollars isn't there and the research backs that so I don't see them budging. |

I guarantee you if you ask them that the team would come along with Dan Snyder, they would decline. |

I guarantee you they wouldn't care who was the owner as long as it was an NFL team. Eventually the novelty will wear out and those fans will hate DS like we do but no way does any city turn down an NFL team wanting to move there. |
Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
Incorrect.
First, never going to happen. You don’t leave a big market for a small market. Second, what politician in todays world is going to commit to building a stadium for Dan? Dans not going for free. Dirty Dan is not a guy you want to put your career on the line for. Stl was burned by Kroenke, they aren’t building another stadium. OKC and SA are Cowboy country. Memphis??? Good BBQ! San Diego Commanders! #playatRFK |

I think any of the cities I mentioned could build and fill the 55k seat stadium being planned. Its amazing how little this area cares about them anymore. The one thing you did get correct is that DS wont go for free. He's going to want a new stadium as a minimum. I think he could talk his way into a new stadium in a city desperate enough for an NFL team. |

Shocking, Snyder won't testify. That guy is such a puss.

Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
He shouldn’t testify, he’s got nothing to gain
Leave the talking to Roger |
Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
Snyder would be an absolute disaster…it would be cringefest and terrible. The guy is a loser

I wouldn't hold that (of all things) against him. I also don't know if having a random billionaire space flight enthusiast would end up being any better or not... |

I like the rebel who goes against group thought losers. He is a risk taker, unafraid. |
Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
I'd rather have Bon Jovi buy the team. (Wasn't he trying to go in with a group on the Bills?)

Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
Why do we always want the crazy assholes who talk the loudest?
Why can't there just be some normal billionaire out there who enjoys football, wants to own a franchise, win some titles, and also recognize he doesn't know shit about football so he'll hire the appropriate people to run the franchise? And also doesn't mind signing checks - we don't want the football equivalent of the Lerners running the team. If Elon or Bezos want to own a franchise it's not because they wanna win Lombardis, it's because they recognize in 20 years the value of NFL franchises has doubled/tripled/quadrupled in some cases. Danny paid under a bil for this team years ago and if he sells he's looking at 3-5 billion. |
Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
Looks like congress removed the big hurdle that Dan felt was imposing for a zoom but alas he is in Europe on "business"

My bad, I wasn't trying to start a political debate, and I'm aware there are different kinds of people at any social position. And obviously you can find more competent billionaires than Snyder, and less noisy ones than Musk. The words "normal" and "billionaires" just sounded oxymoric to me. I'll also add that, while the NFL is a lucrative business, candidates to buy an NFL franchise would likely tend to also be people attracted by the spotlights and jet-set clout that come with owning one of 32 NFL franchise. Which doesn't really screams "normal" to me. But I'll be the first to cheer a quiet and competent owner buying this team, if this ever happens. |

I just thought I should share the information that shows there are billionaires who are relatively unknown to the public. I agree with you on the bold part. I wish there is a way for the public to turn Commanders' private ownership into the public ownership (i.e., Packers). It would have been easy for the shareholders to vote Snyder out. I'm simply dumbfounded by how Snyder has ruined this team and there is nothing we can do about it. |
Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
I never gave it much thought about the owners of sports teams or owners of businesses that sell products I buy or the establishments I frequent.. I either like the team , product , establishment or I move on … I am more concerned with the coach’s and players , the product I buy , and the sevice I receive in a nice restaurant.. I would bet that Snyders allegations are right up there with our politicians… and we all suffer for there failures !
