I mentioned Adam Peters a few weeks ago. He is still the guy I want but this whole list intrigues me.
Because he’s with the whiners? Fuck him!! I want nothing whiner related, those mother fuckers have screwed us too many times. Kyle Smith was up and coming and highly regarded per Keim. Bring him back. Tired of being the whiners bitch/minor league team. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Dan Quinn HC? I wouldn’t mind it.

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
IMO.. Belichick is not one of the greatest coaches of all time and he sucks as a GM. Plus he won w/ a lot of Parcells leftovers when he won in 2001. Great coaching job he did on that team. Probably the least talented of all his SB teams so I'll give him that.
A great coach can win w/ different types of teams, different QB's and so forth. Just not seeing that w/ Bill B. Parcells was a better coach than Bill B.
Nah, the record speaks for itself he is not only one of the greatest coaches but the actual greatest, but I don't want him his time has passed. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
They should hire Brian Mitchell as GM and let him fire the new HC
Lol. What just hire some guy and bring in Mitchell to fire him to what? establish he is a bad ass? |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
I think the one mistake Harris and co made was not firing Mayhew and Hurney right away. He should have got a GM right away and let that person evaluate Ron and company.
But since we are not making the playoffs I think he can get someone in right after the season and get going. Maybe he already has got a guy and that guy is doing work behind the scenes. I don't think Mayhew really got a fair deal here cause he had to bow down to Ron. He had some solid drafts in Detroit, he also had some bad ones, like all GM's do.
I think it's safe to say someone is already lined up and probably already advising Harris on things. |
I think it's safe to say someone is already lined up and probably already advising Harris on things.
Well he brought in Eugene Shen straight away, and I doubt he's a candidate for GM, else he'd have been installed in that role instead. And his CV doesn't suggest he'd be qualified. That suggests to me that Shen will have been recommended by someone in his circle, and that he's likely to fit with the new GM candidate (if not recommended by the same in the first place). In turn that suggests he has a GM candidate firmly in the frame but as they're not appointed already, they are not yet available. Roll on Black Monday... |

@BurgundyBlog Got a friend-of-a-friend kinda tip about Harris’ front-office plan. Root source is an agent. No names, but some clues, which I applied in developing a new hunch for GM short list: Ian Cunningham. TIFWIW. |

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
I'm afraid I don't know much about any of these names being thrown out there as potential GM candidates. I'm just hoping the new ownership picks a good one, he/she hires a competent coaching staff - and we are the beneficiaries of a little luck in the 2024 draft.
That's not asking too much is it? |

Seems like he will garner alot of interest and it seems well deserved. I am 100 percent positive that he, or any other candidate we look at will be more qualified to judge talent than Ron fuckin Rivera so it changes nothing for me. |

hmmm...but they are/were winning and putting up great numbers with him there is basically two management styles; the buddy way or the hard ass way; if you are not getting results then either way is a failure IMO, EB can walk, i have not been impressed with him at all SH has been playing well under him but every other carry over from last year is not performing as well including Terry Also SH looks good but its a bit inflate because EB constantly throws and its not effective just look at the L column To be fair though this team has a D probelm more then a O problem |

I just don't like giving young QBs inconsitentcy , this is Howells 2nd OC in as many yrs.. Adding another in YR 3 could mess him up |

i see your point But its hard to see a new HC coming in and taking EB There is a reason EB hasn't got a HC job and the only other job he could get was a lateral to one of if not the shitest franchises in the NFL; its because he probably isnt that good without world class talent and Andy Reid holding his hand I am not crying if EB is gone by next season, honestly he is probably a black Josh McDaniels; he works well in a very specific environment and that environment has to be drenched in HoF talent. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Not making excuses for EB, and if he's gone he's gone, but if you compare us to other franchises where they have young QB's and poor OL, I can't help thinking EB has managed to make something out of nothing. The Jets, Panthers and Bears (except when they played us) all have terrible offenses with that combination. Our O hasn't been consistently horrible like they have, and arguably has only been truly bad in 3 or 4 games. And the O can't lean on the D at all when its having a bad day at the office.

good points I add as well that the examples you gave SH is better then those teams QBs IMHO SH is more important to this offense then EB I just really believe EB is nothing special; every carry over from last year expect SH (who really didn't play ) has digress including our "prized" number 17. There is no way he should be HC; if he is HC I will be mightily disappointed and do to all of the disappointment from this team over the years I should feel pain from that disappointment but i have just become numb to it and expect it |

i mean they have not given me the opportunity fail at HC either; you have to earn the opportunity there is a whole world of the NFL we don't see or know; in that world EB is not very well regarded; again if he was he wouldn't have come here on a lateral move he had a HC job/opportunity by now Honestly what wow's you about the guy? |

And McDaniels was on the same boat as EB = OC of a team that had a legendary coach and QB. Honestly, I'm not advocating for him to be a HC now, because I have a biased opinion of him. |

Did Bill just give the keys to Josh and the NE O? Thus Josh deserving more credit for NE success O wise And did Andy just let EB ride along as he really direct the O? Thus was EB just really more a assistant to Andy EB also has a bit of a checker past (albeit a long time ago) but you are going pay a dude millions and run your billion dollar franchise; IDK that past be a red flag to me Also its well documented EB is a hard ass; hard asses tend to ruffle feathers, folks with ruffled feathers don't generally like helping the ruffler Don't really ever see EB being a HC unless he completely turns this O around and other then SH ( i believe is doing well on his own nothing EB doing) every carry over from last year including 17 has regressed under EB. |

i wonder who some of the names are that will be rumored for are head coaching position?

any OC/DC/GM type that's done well this year (lions, boyz, etc), and BB :/ and jim harbaugh. At this point it's all wild speculation without any constraints of reality ;) |

Would love to have; the problem going to be getting a Jim level guy he is going want be GM too and Harris likes HC and GM to be two different people. |

Top option would be 49ers Adam Peters for GM.

Or whoever is Howie Roseman's second in command. Hate to say it, but Iggles have done a good job building up that roster through draft, free agency, and trades. |

Well the other guy and maybe the favorite, Ian Cunningham, is an x Eagles organization dude. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
I mean it will be no surprise that Josh will hire a young, analytics invested GM. Who will then hire a young coach
I think the previous rumors about Bilicheat were way off here. |

Former Steelers GM Kevin Colbert is out there. Very possible Harris has already been leaning on him for advice.

I would be elated if either Adam Peters or Kevin Colbert became our GM. |
Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
Adam Peters would be my choice. Lynch has done a hell of a job for SF, and it begs the question how much of that is down to building a top staff.

Re: Potential GM/HC/Coaches Thread
I want the OC from Detroit. He’s young and will bring an energy to the franchise. Plus he makes Goff look good…
