Well the team sure look like they quit today. But, I still think the Pats game (a.k.a. How Darth Hoody ran up the score one us) was worst.
I was actually impress that they did not give up tonight.

Agreed, they seemed to only give up in the first half and the defense in general. Once again, I think the Pats game was worst, at least they put up 28 points this time.
At what point did the Redskins have the Lions beat? We never led by more than 6 and we were a Brandon Banks kickoff return from being demolished in that game as well.
We should have been smarter with the football with the lead and the ball with under 5 minutes to go.

What do you mean we were a Banks return from being demolished in that game? We were down by one point before that TD
Tripp you keep mentioning the pass rush but we don't really have any pass rushers outside of Orakpo and sometimes AH. Do you suggest Haslett start going blitz happy and let Macklin and Jackson run loose? Sometimes you just have to tip your cap to the other team. They were just better in all phases.
No, that's my point here. More blitzers might have been necessary in the course of the game, as you can't just decide to not get to the quarterback, but the field was slick and two years ago I lambasted Blache for not adjusting his gameplan to the conditions. I think Haslett was at least mindful of that, though he was never going to win with no pressure.

I do tip my cap to the Eagles. We needed to do something -- anything -- differently to make Vick's job more difficult, and we didn't. It was easy for him. Too many weapons, too much time, and near-flawless execution.

I thought other than that, we did enough to win. Just enough offense, dominant special teams. Just couldn't stop anybody. I agree with you completely. Less poor play by the Redskins and more great play by the Eagles.

I do think we needed to make obvious changes at the bye week which for whatever reason we never did (Galloway and McIntosh were active, for example).
We got pressure on Vick 5 times in this game. He was 0-for-4 passing on those plays, with a 13 yard scramble.

We didn't get pressure on Vick...a lot of times. He was, uh, really, really effective on those plays.
This is a matter a fact post, not a criticism of the Redskins.

Vick wasn't good in this game when he was under duress. He was excellent when he wasn't.

The other thing is, if they are not blitzing at least put a spy to contain Vick at all times like Gibbs did with Cunningham. Tonight they put Landry a few times, not all the time and he made them pay with no adjustments.

He's just a missed tackle waiting to happen.

You had to get him in the backfield. It was the only time you were going to have a chance.

We are just making dumb moves in the FO, and that was t he basis of my early rant. We do things half assed or backwards, and on top of that just have bad luck to top it off. We get a 6 time Pro Bowl QB, but put him behind a terrible O line, with a crappy WR corp. The $78 million extenstion is a huge waste of $$$$$$ because of these facts. We might get a Wildcard spot at some point with Donovan, but I think you can forget even a divisional crown. By the time we get a proper line in place DM will start to morph into Brunell. Don't get me going on the D. IF we get Eli on one of his "on" days the Gmen will get 40+ on us. Although AA is coming on as a threat, Moss is starting toward the downward slope of his production, and will probably be decent for 2 more seasons, if that. The rest of the guys are just bums. Austin should have been given a shot. Not giving the kid a shot sort of negates the reason for drafting him in the first place, and a linemen should have been drafted in his place. We were hoping the bringing in of Allen as GM would have solved at least some of the boneheadedness of the FO, but the demons still need to be exorcised from Redskins Park I guess. So far in 2010 the only bright spots are Banks, AA, and K Williams. Donovan is a better QB than JC, but his stats sure aren't really showing it thus far. We might have to wait for 2012 til we get a winner, and that is if we are able to retain anybody on defense worth retaining.

Only problem is, that's one guy you're taking away from coverage. Last time I checked, Vick threw for 4 TD passes.

Rotate different players, Gibbs regime was successful.

Great article, like i said the pre-game fight fired up the opponent:

Rotate who? Our fastest secondary players(Hall, Landry, Rogers)? No one in our front 7 is fast enough.

Landry should be benched for the pregame fight. That would be the right message to send after this game.

There are still 10-12 vets that need to be cut from this team. I still think we can win 7 games this year but we need honestly need to play our younger players sooner than later to determine whether they are worth keeping or not...

Seriously?

We are two games out, 2-1 in the diivision and haven't even played the Giants yet. Why pack it in already?

In some ways I think this game is exactly what the doctor ordered...I'm not happy about it, but maybe, just maybe this embarrasment at home on national television will be used to light a fire under all Asses that need lit up...
