The Redskins are left with six contracts that they can restructure that can create some significant cap savings—Williams, Pierre Garçon, Barry Cofield, Stephen Bowen, Chris Chester, and Will Mont.
Shanny and BA are super smart to avoid committing to any of these cats further into the future IMO. Tough sitz though to be sure.

I'd love to see the whole team rally together as an F U to Mara, the Giants and the league lol.
Well after beginning of the offseason, I don't think we can call Dolphins cheap anymore. They brought Winston in for a visit and didn't even extend an offer before he left. I used to want Winston too because of his history with Kyle in Houston, until now. Redskins obviously don't want him, then why should we?
Yes sir. Stephen Ross is happy to open the checkbook in a way reminiscent of a young Dan Snyder. If the Fins won't give Winston a big payday, likely no one will.

Rak's number is $5M, it would be easy to drop that down quite a bit with a new deal.
I thought I read in one of the threads he was on the books for around 2.9 mil or was that Kerrigan?

If they need to make room for AW, releasing wilson is a reasonable option...

I think that would be a horrible move.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't already make a move with Wilson to be honest

I agree. I'm all for signing Winfield if possible, but not by cutting a CB from an already weak position. That's like cutting off your nose to spite your face.

You think we trade him for a mid round pick?

Resign, release, or trade?

I don't see that. Our secondary needs safeties. We get a couple of good safeties, and the play of both hall and wilson should be noticibly better. Adding Orakpo and Carricker back into the front seven should increase the pressure on the QB which in turn will increase both Hall and Wilson's ability to make plays. When the QB and WR has 5+ seconds to make a play it become difficult for any CB to be able to be successful.

This, and assuming BM or Tanard Jackson comes back (healthy, etc.) we only need one more starting caliber safety to improve the secondary a good bit. Cornerback is the 3rd biggest need (and probably tied with two other positions) behind safety and right tackle.

I thought they'd adjust his contract to give us some cap relief. A release wouldn't totally surprise me though

I have been waiting for an extension for Wilson honestly. Free up a couple of bucks and bring JW back for 2-3 years

I don't see RT as a need since we got Pashos.

I agree that one good safety will improve the secondary dramatically. Just having Meriweather back will help.

As for corner, meh, not too worried. If we get Winfield, great, if not we can get a good corner in the draft, even if not an immediate starter.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the current team. After all, we did win the division last year, and IMO, we're already improved; signing Pashos, Biggers, getting several key players back from injury, having RG3 and Morris a year older and more experienced. Once the draft is over and we have another good group of rookies, I can see us making a run to the NFC Championship.
