Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
But has a HC doesn't he get to know a little bit of what's the plan?
(Legit question, not a rethorical one). Again, hope I'm wrong but this was just the start of me stopping to fight so hard to keep faith. Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk
Jay gets to have input, but this decision is up to Snyder, as Irish aptly points out. From the comments coming from Cooley, it's clear that Jay wants to get things settled from a long term planning standpoint. I bet Snyder and Allen do too, honestly. Who wouldn't. But it's not Jay's call. |

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
I think that's an incorrect interpretation. The coach DOES have input into decision making and long term planning, but it's not entirely up to him (like with most teams in the NFL) and it's the front office that handles the negotiations, not the coach (like with most teams in the NFL). It's entirely incorrect to say the coach has no say as to who plays QB for him. |

Don't overreact to incorrect interpretations. Just listen to what Cooley said. Skins fan in OK should take that instragram thing down. We don't even know who wrote that. Could be his fucking cousin. |
Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
Yeah but the HC should get a good feel on if his QB will return or not... Or even be wanted back

But given Snyder and recently Allen's disgraceful history, I don't think they deserve the benefit of a doubt now. Like with Shanahan, Zorn, Gibbs "handling" things, Schottenheimer, etc.... |

Yes it's typical Jay to have this un-emphatic, hesitating tone... But they both do think it sounds like Jay "likes" Kirk but doesn't "love" Kirk. |

Where in a normal competent organization, wouldn't the HC be more informed? |

You don't seem to recall when McCloughan was canned last year, Gruden was brought into pre-draft interviews at the combine because his opinion was valued. I don't think he's cut out of the process. And just because he didn't tell Cooley doesn't mean he's not kept in the loop. |

He is a very, very, good quarterback. But, he's not good enough to demand $30M/yr. I know the market dictates the worth. But the Redskins are supposed to be building a complete, Super Bowl team, not sacrificing. So, the question is, can they sign Kirk Cousins and not sacrifice anything? |

And the answer to that is NO, which BA and DS both know they cant pay Kirk 30M and have a team around him to compete for a SB next yr or maybe even the next few years. Look at Det and Indy, both teams are EH, ok teams but wont be able to sign any big help in the OS. The Saints have already basically said they cant give DB a raise due to their cap structure. So you either roll the dice on 30M and avg players around Kirk, mainly on Offense (like this yr), and hope draft picks become stars. Or you let him go elsewhere, get what u can for him if possible and roll with a cheaper option (Alex Smith, Baker Mayfield, etc.) Heck the Packers cant even field a solid Defense through F/A and that is with AROD making 22M a yr. Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
The 2018 Salary cap is expected to be at 178,000,000
That is 178 million. https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/12/13/salary-cap-increase-2018-season So you are saying you cannot field a competitive team by paying your QB 25 million and have 153,000,000 for the rest of the roster? really? I guess if you have some of the high priced turds we have ...... |
