The 2018 Salary cap is expected to be at 178,000,000
That is 178 million. https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/12/13/salary-cap-increase-2018-season So you are saying you cannot field a competitive team by paying your QB 25 million and have 153,000,000 for the rest of the roster? really?
Kirk will get 30M most likely and that is also with signing our own FA's tha twe have now. |
Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
It’s definitely a stretch to say paying Kirk means we can’t build a competitive team around him.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
I just don't understand why they wait until March. The season is fucking over with. Get a conversation started and get the ball rolling, now. This last minute bullshit is not the way to do a deal at all. It's total dysfunction on so many levels. Since the Redskins have totally mismanaged this they should send his agent a contract and had it ready when the season ended. That way everyone knows they're serious. If he rejects it then move on and be done with one another. Try and trade him so you get some value for your QB. Why continue to drag this mess out until the deadline?

Good points made by Bucky Brooks using The Ravens and Joe Flacco’s contract.

I highly doubt he's getting that much. Not here and probably not anywhere else. His play hasn't warranted that kind of pay. He's been good, not great. |

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
The 2 local morning sports guys here in Houston{Lance Zeirlein-who father either is or has been line coach for a few nfl teams}were discussing Cousins contract, they said let him walk, too much money, also compared it to the Flacco situation like Bucky Brooks

i agree 100% !! |
Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
The season doesn’t end until after the SB so I don’t think he can even sign until then.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
Maybe someone should ask him tomorrow:

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
I just had a flashback to the 2014 nfl draft when we sent our second round pick to Dallas so they can draft Demarcus Lawrence and we picked up Trent Murphy and Spencer long with their 2nd and 3rd.
We better pay the guys that have proven they can play. I don’t trust our talent evaluators. |

Maybe he deserved to be fired and maybe he needed to be kept out of the building but they shouldn't have fired him for cause. Instead, they should have made him a special deal. They should have set him up with a plush office in his house with everything he needed to watch film and evaluate talent. The office should have had a fully stocked wet bar and Scot could have sat there in his bathrobe drinking booze and setting up our draft board and Free Agent target list. That's why the Skins need me to advise them when they require creative solutions to complex problems. |
