Yeah I can see some of that but it's hard for me to back up CP when he can't seem to keep his mouth shut. I can't see him throwing Danny boy under the bus. He's have to pop him off his cheecks first.
the dudes just pissed hes sitting home watching other teams in the playoffs.. let it all boil over. CPs mentality will improve as the new season approaches... and BTW i doubt hed throw Snyder under the bus... he also never really threw Zorn under the bus... he just simply said he was frustrated he wasnt getting the ball in key situations... i coulda swore he was a little nicked up but... like he said... if hes dressed i guess he should be playing. He is better than Betts... NO NO.. He is (on any situation..unless its the quick screen).
1) Read Schneed's Post #3 before you make the statement that Zorn is an idiot. I would take Zorn's experience/opinion (over 35 years) over Portis' any day of the week and twice on Sunday. Portis isn't the most cerebral guy on the team, he responds to everything emotionally.

2) Our offensive line is the smallest in our division: Average weight of OLs in NFC East: Eagles 330, Cowboys 327, Giants 315, Skins 302. By no means is our OL a "grind it out, smashmouth" OL. The average age of the starters, (with Jansen in) is 32 years old. Over a 16 game season of pounding an older, smaller OL will break down, that's what happened. Unfortunately this isn't the Hogs of 80-92.

3) Have you ever called plays for an offense with a poor OL up front....my guess is no. It's not fun and every playcall, even what should be simple ones, is difficult.

4) My guess is Buges isn't ripping anyone, it's his unit that was the primary reason for the 2-6 drop-off at the end of the season. Not that it's his fault, but IMO it's time for Buges to retire. We need to bring in an OL coach with WCO experience. We certainly need to retool the OL. We desperately need youth/size. C, and a young stud LT would be my primary targets. Move Samuels to the right side, he's having trouble with speed off the edge. Hopefully Rinehart develops and between, Kendall, Jansen, Heyer we have serviceable back-ups at C, G, T.

Portis needs to STFU and just play football, he's getting $ 5.6M in 2009 and $ 10M in 2010. Do your job, let the coaches do theirs. Nothing helps a coaching staff more than a highly paid veteran criticizing and whining to the media about internal dirty laundry every week.....
I agree with alot of what you said, But what if the O-line and Portis did'nt get hurt we may have stayed where we were. There's alot of woulda shoulda coulda, But our season must be thought of as a success with all the things we had to overcome new coach, new system, tough division. And Samuels was hurt in the end of the season, He's a pro-bowler and one of the best LT's in the league. I would like to see Heyer start at RT he impressed down the strech.

Don't know what that's all about? I don't think CP is that juvenile, but close.

Well, Rennie Simmons and Sherman Smith took over while Buges was away earlier this year. So I guess Smith

Thats exactly the kind of shit that I'm talkin about! That right there! Samuels has a bumb knee. Jansen has been injury prone since 2004. Your whole group is just OLD, by football standards......................And you ONLY have two back up lineman on the active roster!?!?!??! Zorn is a FREAKIN IDIOT!!!! I mean, How in the heck can you NOT have Fabini on the active roster with all that going on? At the very least just Fabini!?!?!

Lets go back to the Giants game, the first one! Its the fourth quarter. We're down by two scores. Just over four minutes to go in the game and...................we huddle up before we call plays; even if our guy didn't get out of bounds? freakin idiot! It doesn't end there though! Yep, we kill so much clock on that drive that, in order to win, we end up having to kick a field goal and then hope we get lucky! Of course Zorn doesn't get that! and kills the rest of the clock while going for the touchdown. And then blames the players for the loss! Freakin Idiot!

Lets fast forward to the second Cowboys game! Its a close game. We were leading going into the fourth quarter. But, Zorn decides not to run Portis............Nah, he thinks that throwing the ball more is the way to go. FREAKIN IDIOT! We should have won that game! If Zorn had just established a running game we would have! Everyone knows that Portis owns the Cowboys! Even when he's hurt! How in the heck can you only run Portis 15 times!!!! AND DON'T GO TRYING TO SAY THAT WE COULDN'T RUN IT! PORTIS HAD 4.5 YARDS A CARRY ON THEM! Zorn is.................A FREAKIN IDIOT!!!

A third game! The Bengals! It was the fourth quarter. Our defense finally gets a 3rd down stop. This is a crucial play! Our offense must get the ball back! The Bengals hurry to the line. We hurry with them. It was fourth and inches..................Yeah, fourth and inches and everyone knew what play was coming. This Harvard quarterback was going to run the quarterback sneak on us! And of course he was going to get it. There were only four down lineman and a niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice little gap right over the center. Zorn decides to NOT call a time out and put 5 or even 6 downlineman there and then say something like, "If this Harvard Piece of Shit gets the first down against those lineman I'm going to be cutting someone tomorrow". Nope, Zorn just........................freakin idiot!!! He's such a freakin idiot!!!

Look, you can go on and on about how Portis shouldn't be saying things publicly. You can even assume that Buges had nothing to do with the Redskins magically running the ball over 30 times against San Fran......................our average points scored jumped from ten to twenty-four that game.........................You can also assume that Zorn and his 30 years of experience are good! But, you are wrong! If Zorn had a championship or two in that 30 YEAR SPAN; I might agree with you. But, he doesn't!

Portis is right. Like it or hate it......he is right! We must stick with what works. Unless we blow up this team, running Portis works. Even if he's injured! I just hope that Zorn has realized that.

Re: More Portis

I love Portis and to be honest he along with my favorite player ever Sean Taylor & Jason Campbell are the main reason I became a Redskin fan. If they cut Portis I don't know how I would feel about the skins. S.T. gone (R.I.P.), J.C. possibly out next year & C.P. possibly gone next year too the feeling wouldn't be the same at all.

Redskins Warrior - This is football, and Portis is starting in on the dreaded 30 year old mark for RBs. I think Portis is gone after next season. Definitely after 2-3.

you should really really go over to nfl.com videos and watch coach zorns post game press conf. after the 1st game. i didnt understand what he was doing clock wise at the end of the giants game either, then he explained his thought process and i was impressed. please, before you run your mouth do some research on why zorn did what he did, you just might learn something. i know i did.

go skins!!

edit - you know what ill explain it to you even though zorn could do it better.

we needed 2 scores to win. we had the ball, zorn didnt want to use our timeouts b/c he was hoping we could score, kickoff regurlarly then use our TOs so the giants couldnt take a knee. they would punt and we would have the ball back with time on the clock. if had used those TOs on the drive your talking about and we scored we would then have had to hope we convert on an on-side kick. zorn figured if we scored quickly and didnt use any of our TOs we then wouldnt have to rely on an onside kick b/c we could use our TOs to prevent the giants from taking knees and running the clock out. atleast the man had a plan, we just didnt have a hurry up offense installed yet . . . which you can blame on zorn if you want.
