Re: PFT: LaCanfora to NFLN
I didn't mind JLC. Sure maybe he poured it on VC and the gang sometimes, but hey he's got a blog. Blogs are for giving some inside info and some opinions too right? Plus VC and DS haven't exactly deserved a kings treatment. Last time i checked they haven't been an organization that's finely tuned. They do stupid s*** all the time. He also gave them props when deserved.
schefter is usually the first person with some breaking news. he's got pretty good sources and sometimes is in direct contact with players.
I always thought that as well but part of me can't help but wonder if the reason he did so well at NFLN was because he was at NFLN. Can anyone tell me what he was like when he was the Bronco's beat reporter? |
Re: PFT: LaCanfora to NFLN
Since we're bumping old threads these days...
JLC's replacement is leaving, sort of...Jason Reid will stay with the WaPo but leave the Redskins beat The Early Lead - Jason Reid to become Post sports columnist |

That's good, he offered little as the Redskins "insider".

Here is hoping that the Post and Snyder can put the past behind them now, and get some good "insider" information going. Still amazing that the Fredericksburg reporter always seemed to have better reports than the Washington Post |

Maybe they should hire this guy as the Redskins Insider. That way no one would have to worry about drawing the wrath of Snyder and we could actually get decent inside information. |

Think we need to put a ban on bumps

Oh sure. SCP has a bump marathon and nothing! I bump one thread and suddenly The Ego appears. Well you know what **** YOU!! ****ing tired of this plantation mentality shit. I won't be attending voluntary mod camp again this year. And I might just skip mod minicamp too. How you like them apples? (PS: I'll still get paid right?) |
Re: PFT: LaCanfora to NFLN
I've grumped about his bump-fests too

I think SCP and I may just go and start our own message board where we'll just bump threads...maybe sometime in early April |
Re: PFT: LaCanfora to NFLN
I think Ried either simply worked from his desk & didn't get to the park enough to forge relationships w/players, or Synder et al gave everyone at Redskins Park pretty explicit directions to keep things in-house. Remember when E.Byner was let go as RBs coach? He was one of JLC's best "insiders." Don't know if that had anything to do w/it, but I did notice that since then the wash post. from JLC's later days to the present really hasn't had much in the way of breaking news on the skins, it's usually 2nd hand.
