This one hurt, but I have to give credit to Boston. They hung in there and never quit. There will be a lot of changes with the Yankees...I guarantee it. Obviously the reason why we lost this series was because of our bullpen. But I give the Red Sox all the credit. Their bullpen did a good job of shutting down the Yankees 1-4 batters.

SUNRA 10-21-2004 12:21 AM
Jeter has a .368 career postseason batting average. And his primary job as the leadoff batter is to get on base so guys like A-Rod, Matsui, Sheffield can drive him in so walks aren't a bad thing at all for him
They didn't nickname Jeter Mr.Clutch for getting on base from a walk. He certainly didn't get a .368 batting average on walks. What was his postseason batting average against Boston? I'm sure it's much lower than .368

Redskins_P 10-21-2004 12:22 AM
I just watched Mr. Clutch blow his chance to hit. Jeter didn't want to hit. He wanted to walk and Timlin just threw the right pitch and he grounded out. All of you Yankees fans can never I mean never talk about all of the defeats you have given the Red Sox because this one out tops them all.

Who's the Red Sox daddy? NOT THE YANKEES!
Calm down hater........Yankees will ALWAYS be the red sox daddy. 26 Championships compared to what 5?

The Yankees depended too much on Jeter, Rodriguez, Matsui and Sheffield. Bernie Williams was a non factor and Boston kept them out of the game. The men who deserve the credit is Kurt Schiling and David Ortiz. They kept their foot on the Yankees' neck and never let up off of them because of history. I can say that I was on this earth when Boston beat the Yankees in the ACLS after 86 years. God is good! Whew!

I'm a hater? You need to be a congradulater. Because this victory will put all 26 Championships on the backburner. Nobody cares about the 26 Champiohships. As Janet Jackson's song says, " What Have you done for me lately?" They HAVE PLAYED 70 times, 35 wins for New York , 35 wins for Boston. Boston won the 71ST game in New York, in the 7th game. Don't worry THE BOSS will make changes.

I did congratulate. I gave the Red Sox their credit. As far as the Janet Jackson song.........what more do you want? 26 isn't enough? The way I look at it is the Yankees will ALWAYS have the upper hand on the Red Sox. When the Yanks go to the World Series they actually win most of time. Unlike the Red Sox.

I'm fucking irate! Only the Skins can save my year now. What are the odds?

That was by far the biggest choke job in sports history. You cant be up 3 games ,and be winning in the bottom of the ninth in two others , and lose. These Yankees, are not "The Yankees" Except for Jeter, Mo , Berine and Posada. This team has a bunch of guys who want to be heros and no one wants to do the dirty work, it really p*sses me off. Unfotunatley, everyone whos not a Yanks fan is going to think that this win by the Sox trumps everything the Yankees have ever done, which is unfotunate. I couldnt belive what I watched last night, my friends ( who are huge Yanks fans ) were so shell shocked last night. Its unbelivable. The YANKEES of all teams are the biggest choke in sports history....

I do miss the days of Tino, Brosious, and O'neil. This Yankee team is molded like Dan Synder's 2000 Redskins. We have the 1998 MLB All-Star team, just like the Skins had the 1992 All-Madden team that year.

There's really no reason why the Yankees shouldn't win the WS every year. Look at their player for goodness sakes. They have the hitters to win it all, even with no pitching!

We all know they had the hitting. The lack of pitching is what ended up biting them in the ass.

But, what I was trying to say that EVEN without pitching, they have the hitters to still be able to win.
