Re: New coaches who?
I'm not ready for a coaching change. Neither one of those coaches could come in and take this team to the Superbowl any faster than Zorn will. I definitely understand everyone's frustration, hell I'm very frustrated. I wouldn't let myself believe that the Redskins would actually lose that game last night and it still hasn't really sunk in...
The point I wanted to make is, you don't hire a head coach and expect everything to just meld immediately, and have chemistry right away, and be a perennial playoff contender from the get go. I know that is what all of us want, but none of those coaches you mentioned took their team to the Superbowl in their first two seasons. Most it took 5-6 or more. With all the changes to schemes and philosophies, it's no wonder this team is still sort of lost and trying to find itself and establish an identity. Hey, I'm not happy with the results so far. BUT, I do know that this team took the Giants to the wire on the road in game one. I know the offense is moving the ball down the field with regularity. I also know there have been a lot of mistakes, some poor execution at times, and yes, even a bad play call here and there (although hindsight is always 20/20). All signs of a team struggling to find itself. I think it will happen. I think they'll find themselves and get into a groove soon. It is three games down, thirteen to go. I'm not going to give up yet and start calling for heads, and I'm not going to boo next time they lose, or don't perform as good as I expected either. I'm just going to watch and cheer them on, and hope they turn this thing around starting with the Buccaneers.
Can you say Marty Schottenheimer. The Redskins vets were complaining about how tuff he was on them. They started out 0-5 and we finished 8-8, but Synder wanted the Old Ball Coach because he was a offensive genius. Well you know the rest. Coaches need 3 years to turn things around. |

I'd like to bring Schotty in as GM. He'd make Snyder sign his "touch my team and cut me a check for the rest of my salary because you will have fired me" clause. If our GM has free reign from Snyder than we'll at least have a shot at being successful instead of in perpetual stuntted state. |
Re: New coaches who?
I would agree with you except it's taken Atlanta, Baltimore, New Jersey, and Detroit 1 year. Why does it always take the Skins longer?
Well Detroit hasn't "arrived" quite yet and Baltimore was pretty decent just a couple of years before Harbaugh got there...but they all have proven offensive coordinators |
Re: New coaches who?
There isnt a coach out there that can get these losers to play with heart and passion.

We scored a garbage touchdown in the final minutes for the desperation drive. The Giants were never threatened in that game. It was far from "down to the wire" for the Giants. |
Re: New coaches who?
i'd like to see charley casserly as the teams gm and cower or gruden as coach. if cower then i'd like to see the defense switch to a 3-4.
when will this 3-4 defense crap go away!! Why would you change it?? because its trendy?? We have had top notch defenses the last how many years, that is just ridiculous. |
Re: New coaches who?
This is all dream talk. Same ole shit will happen in the off season. Vinny will still be there to attempt to know what the hell he is doing. No matter who the coach is, it will still be a "joint" decision when it comes down to personel. (which means basically Danny boy rules over everyone)
If Danny has some sense, he would go right down 95 and ask Ozzie how much $$ it would take to get him in Washington. That man is a talent guru and finds people in the deepest of forests. Baltimore, no matter who gets hurt, or goes down brings people in and never misses a beat. Even when their leader Ray Ray went down a couple years ago, they were still an imposing defense. We have an injury to anyone one of the starting units and its disaster. Ozzie finds good talent late in the draft, they contribute to the team. Hell our 2nd rounders can't stay on the damn field because they dont know what they are doing. its becoming really f'n hard to root for this organization year in and year out. Danny and Vinny are running turing this town against them and a once proud organiztion is an embarrasment, the laughing stock of the NFL. |

He will never hire a tough independent minded coach or GM because they might actually call him out and question him in public. |
Re: New coaches who?
I wonder how Charlie Weis would do here as an offensive coordinator?
If Zorn is fired who would you get to replace him? He are my top guys: Cowher, Holmgren, Marriucci, Gruden, Mike Shanahan, Tony Dungy.
Call me a homer if you want to, but I like Russ Grimm. I think he would need an offensive coordinator. But, He would get this team fired up to play Detroit and St. Louis. And he hates that team in Texas probably more than most of us do. And certainly more than any of the coaches you mentioned. He'd be a good fit. We'd be playing Redskins Football once again with him here. |

Then he would cut them, bench them, or kick the crap out of them. He wouldn't put up with any half ass crap! You know he wouldn't! |

He wouldnt have a choice because when he tried to cut them or kick their a$$ they'd go to DS an whine & complain and DS would side with the players like he always does. No decent self respecting coach would come here because they know they dont have ultimate authority with the team, the owner does. |
