Mike Bell has been tendered as well. I personally would have wanted Evans.
Yes, he's been tendered but if we sign him for that much or more we can get him and don't have to give up a pick for him, since he was an undrafted player and they tendered him for the lowest tender, we don't have to give up anything for him if we want him. Yes, believe thats how this works. |
My free agency spreadsheet is almost done, but in the meantime, I thought I'd throw up a "best available" players cheat sheet. Available implies a UFA who does not wear a franchise tag.
1. Julius Peppers, DE, Age 30, Rating 92 2. Ben Watson, TE, Age 29, Rating 91 3. Gary Brackett, LB, Age 30, Rating 91 4. Kevin Walter, WR, Age 29, Rating 89 5. Bobbie Williams, G, Age 33, Rating 88 6. Darren Sproles, RB, Age 27, Rating 88 7. Chad Pennington, QB, Age 34, Rating 87 8. Aaron Kampman, DE, Age 30, Rating 86 9. Nate Burleson, WR, Age 29, Rating 86 10. Keith Bulluck, LB, Age 33, Rating 86 I'm going to use this thread to throw up all the "player x released" news links, which will leave it all in one place to add to the FA spreadsheets.
GTripp, if you have finished your spreadsheet, can you post the best available OL, with age, and rating? Would like to see what names are even out there on the OLine side of the field. |
re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread
Does anyone know the deadline for actually placing tenders? Any reason the Skins haven't actually tendered anyone? (yes I am impatient, thanks)

re: Mega-Merge: 2010 Free Agency Rumors and Reports Thread

They have till Thursday. Why throw it out too soon? Let all the other teams wonder what we are going to do. As far as our players I only saw a handfull I'd tender or resign. Obviously JC being the big one. Maybe they are in talks with another team about a trade. If the other team doesn't come back with a yeah we want the player we can tender them. |

I know this isn't what your asking for but this has I think the top OL out there that we might be looking at
This year's class of unrestricted free agents is not considered an overwhelming one. Green Bay's Chad Clifton and Arizona's Mike Gandy appear to be the top tackles available. San Francisco's Tony Pashos played under Chris Foerster, Washington's new offensive line coach, with the 49ers and in Baltimore. While he seemed like an early favorite, 49ers head coach Mike Singletary said last week that he's hopeful Pashos will be locked up before he can hit the open market.
I'd like for us to pick up Pashos atleast. I think he was pretty good. |

SB Thanks on both questions

i might be in the minority here, but i think Chad Pennington would be a GREAT QB for us if we draft a young QB, until the drafted QB is ready to play.....

I would have to agree with you.... Meaning you might be in the minority. :) I liked Chad back when he was with the Jets but since his injury to his shoulder or whatever it was he has not been the same. I'm actually supprised he's still playing since he seems to only throw 10 to 15 yrd passes the majority of the time. We need more accurate passers period. A Rookie to develope or start and a Vet. I think JC will be ok filling in unless he's picked up by another team. I wonder if the team has explored looking into any QB's through FA that might be decent as a Vet if JC gets picked up by another team? I know our asking price is a lot but considering he's better then what some teams already have he might get looked into and possibly a proposed offer slightly lower then what we are offering. |

For one yr wouldnt be bad i guess... not like the Skins have a deep threat who can burn defenses consistantly anyways. m/o |

With enough time to throw I think Moss and Thomas would have no problems getting deep.

I just want to see JC one more year, while we have a QB sitting and learning the Shanny system |

A problem that this team has had recently. |

I don't mind the move. Despite his age, he plays the run well and is a good guy to run a rotation with. |
