The thing is thought that Ben is already a rich man. Money isn't really a problem for him. So in the end I think it depends on weather or not Ben goes on principle and refuses to acknowledge such an accusation by paying for it to go away. Though you're right that it would make more sense to pay her off if he could. Has anyone heard from Kobe's "victim" lately?

I could sworn though that I heard that Ben did offer a settlement but was turned down. Personally I'd rather this go to trial in hopes of getting to the bottom of this.

Of course if this was an early episode of Law and Order they'd try to arrange a plea deal. "Man 2, he does the max." "See you in court Stone." Pains me to know that no one will understand this reference.

she said she was assaulted, not raped. big difference. i'm not a lawyer but what does that mean? it could mean he grabbed her ass, or grabbed her tits when she wasn't expecting it. to me this sounds like some girl crying wolf. how do you assault someone in a club when people are walking in and out of a bathroom? it just doesn't make any sense.

Well we don't know what exactly happened. Roethlisberger could have had one of his boys block the bathroom so no one got in and out. He could have been like "Whatever, I'm Ben Roethlisberger. Let them watch"

some things are possible. but some are less possible. i just find it very hard to believe that an nfl star ( or anyone w/ common sense) is sexually assaulting someone in a college bar while his wingman blocks the door.

I dont want anyone to take this personally, but it seems like some people are almost making excuses for Rothlesberger or minimizing certain unconsented acts as if they would be "no big deal" even if they did happen. If Rothlesberger engaged in [U]any[/U] sort of sexual assault, however minor, its no trivial matter. He deserves what he's getting and it better include some sort of judicial punishment and suspension from the league and/or the team. In the "best-case scenario" for him -everything was consensual and hes now being victimized by someone wanting to get a big payday - he's still an idiot, a pervert, and someone who deserves what he's getting right now. He's a liability to reputation of the NFL.

My gut feeling is that he did something wrong in this case. People who are bar hopping between 5 different locations aren't going to be doing anything intelligent or making any good decisions.

Rape is a type of sexual assault. Sexual assault is the broad category. I think you're referring to sexual misconduct which doesn't really seem to be the case here.

Ok, #1 - absolutely no stone hard facts have come out about this case yet, ITS NOT EVEN A CASE YET, LOL, no charges have even been filed yet, so, quit slammin and crucifying this guy for christs sake...
#2 bad judgement?? The frickin guy lives out in the mmiddle of bumflip egypt in georgia, and I know, milledgeville is right down the road from me, and what is bad about his judgement? Being a 28 year old that likes to go to clubs, show off, spend money and fraternize with women??? yeah, horrible judgement there.

The girls best friend even said to authorities that the accuser said, "I gonna get me some Rothlisberger." and she even drove to Pittsburgh with her friend to see if they could track him down and party with him, all AFTER the alleged event. Hardly a girl with her emotions totally distraught from being violated and raped. more like a girl thats pissed that he banged her and jetted, cause he found out first hand the bitch was flippin nuts.

You all should just chill, and quit fricking crucifying this guy when absolutely NO EVIDENCE, NO UPDATES, NOTHING has officially come out from the Police dept. or the DA. All of this is just speculation, and all this, "well I saw some pictures, A witness said this bull shit.......SPECULATION.
