Re: McNabb excited about TE opportunities
Chris Cooley is a good football player, I look forward to seeing us scheme him up better. However, I do think he gets boosted because he's such a cool guy that people are in love with him. I'm not saying that Chris Cooley isn't a stellar TE. I'd say he's easily top half, most likely top 10 TEs in the league, but as skins fans we overrate him slightly because of his personality.
The voice of reason !!! Cooley is good. Stellar, he is NOT! |

Davis has made ME and ONLY ME forgot about Mr Cooley apparently.
Oh yeah, you are a musical genius. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fqty6p5j6WU&feature=related]YouTube - mc whitey[/ame] |
Re: McNabb excited about TE opportunities
I like Cooley a lot as a player. Off the field he's a great personality but Davis just seems like he has a nose for the end zone. Cooley has always been able to rack up receptions and yards but the endzone elludes him. He is consistent when he plays, a possession guy that QBs love to have as a safety blanket, I almost think JC would abandon his second and third reads and if the primary wasn't there he just started looking for Cooley sometimes. That's what a good possession TE gives you. Davis is a different player, he's faster, more dynamic, not an effective blocker but the zone scheme should help him in that regard. It's really a luxury to have these two guys, both talented but in very different ways.

Re: McNabb excited about TE opportunities
I think people are underrating Cooley just a bit. He's had down production the last two seasons, but he was getting about 6 TDs a season prior to that. That said, Davis is indeed the more athletic of the two.

What? Not living up to 3rd rd pick? |
Re: McNabb excited about TE opportunities
What has CC done LATELY?????
Davis was a factor in just about every game he started. Cooley disappears for extended lengths of time. Trade, get a pick and move on.
It's called being injured |

I disagree.. it's not inherent racism but people tend to be attracted to those who look like themselves. I'd say that most people don't care what color a player is but will find it easy to be drawn to a player of their own skin color. Doesn't mean they don't like the others and is probably more true with females. |

Well said, now lets get back to how happy DM will be having to TE's that can catch & run. HTTR. |

On top of this Cooley mentioned in games if he was hot and they had already run his drawn out plays he'd get nothing else called to him. |
