The guy couldn't hack it as New Englands 3rd wr last year. After Moss and Welker there really wasn't much competition since Stallworth and Gafney left. He is so done.
He had injuries and issues adjusting to their offense. As long as he's right physically he might have something left.

Galloway has wheels is smart in the "West" system and has been working hard with McNabb as any intelligent veteran role model player would.

I think he brings quite a bit to the table and has a great opportunity to be successful in this system.

He's not used up by any means.

There are several inaccuracies in that article. I think that the outlook and bottom line are accurate or "safe predictions", but there was a lot of hearsay in there that is not proven to be fact. The projected depth chart was a little pretentious as well.
I mean theres only so consistent you can be when dealing w a hamstring injury. I also got to say it, I am really wishing we held onto Marko
Thomas was considered one of the best Wrs in the Big Ten when he was at MSU. Never heard of Marko before we drafted him, and if we didn't take a chance on him he probably wouldn't have been drafted. I doubt Shanny would have even had him on his radar if he was the HC in 2009. Marko was released off the bat for a reason The acquiring of Furrey is an indication of how crappy our WR corp is as a whole. Furrey was a good pickup, the Lions should have held on to him as he filled in nicely when Charles Rogers became a total bust. ANother Spartan WR, I might add.
Heard it from someone associated with the league. But he said that's what he recalled, but wasn't sure.
I was invited to watch OTA's at redskins park yesterday and Armstrong's speed was very evident. The guy flat moves. Caught a nice long ball where he chased it down and pulled away from a defender to get to it. He also stopped to sign autographs at the end. He has a noticeably solid frame for a receiver with his speed. Like a hybrid between Thomas and Moss. The guy was obviously helping himself during the practice.

Thomas showed very strong on the goal line plays. Looked like he excels when he can jam the corner, turn, and catch the pass at the goal line. And, yes, Kelly was making some nice catches with the jump ball at the back corner of the end zone.

In general, the team looks much more dangerous.

Nice, what other observations did you have on some of the other position players and the coaches?

Tempo was extremely fast. Linemen were coming off the ball very fast. Trent Williams was very effective in both run and pass blocking. Blew a guy of the ball on a run play to a point where I wouldn't want to be the other guy watching film.

Brennen looked better than Grossman. That surprised me with Grossman familiarity with the offense. It could be that Grossman was throwing to a place where the reciever should be and Brennen was finding his, but I didn't see anything that distinguished Grossman from the other backups.

McNabb is a leader. Flat out, the guy has the offense behind him. One example, when they make the play he is running up and bumping chests with the other guys. One of those intangible things that I think will help the teams chemistry.

Banks looks like a JV player (size wise) compared to the rest of the team. Fast as hell but REALLY small. He had a couple of chances to catch the ball on 20 yard patterns and alligator armed them... even though he knows he isn't getting hit. Looks like he will need to get pads on and see if he can survive the game with guys this size.

Danny Smith is still the loudest guy no the field. Nothing notable on special teams. Gano looked good but not a lot to talk about.

Larry Johnson is doing everything he can to earn his spot. Looked very fast and made a couple of nice runs where the corners were trying to chase him down... and couldn't. Hits the hole with authority. I was very impressed.

Defense is commited to turnovers. They stripped Moss on successive plays where Moss had made nice catches which prompted a few choice expletives from Moss (understandably pissed at himself).

Mike Williams looks like a beast now. How can a guy that size have more chest than belly? He is now mauling guys and moving fast on the stretch plays. Could really be a bigger asset than people think.

Not much to say on coaches. Kyle was outside the huddles coaching up the QB's prior to the play. Dad watched from the side. They seem more committed to stretching the field. Lots of 20+ yard pass plays. Very few short plays. They were using recievers effectively in the run game. Thomas also excelled in that. Cooley and Davis caught a number of balls across the middle on some well designed plays. The defense finally figured it out and popped one up that almost got picked off.

The new guy, Furrey, looks like a Wes Welker type. I could easily see him making the team in some capacity because of his multiple abilities. His only downfall was his hands. His made some gutsy plays followed by some drops. If it was just a bad day, and his hands are better than what I witnessed, the guy could be an asset on short yardage plays and as a slot guy.

Defensive side was similar with Haslett doing more of the overview thing and position coaches working their guys play by play. Things just felt faster and stricter. I think it was 9 sets of 10 minute sessions. They went by fast and guys gave 100% the whole time.

^^^ Thanks GoSkins! That was some excellent insight and inside information. Well written and positive. Can't wait to see some live action stuff. Also hope I can get by training camp again this year, I really want to compare what I saw last year with this year, especially in terms of the tempo everyone talks about.

Thanks for the info GoSkins! Sounds like the offense should be much better this year and the defense is working hard to get turnovers. Sounds good!

Nice find NYC. I love DT's tone in the article, it really sounds like he's focused on having a successful season.
