If you can evaluate a guy that quick, why all the OTAs, practices, and games? Did he park in Coach Shanahan's space? |
re: First Cuts: Holmes, E. Williams, Dearth, Davis
Likely the scenario. I'm a bit worried about Ryan "Coal" Torain myself. Things seem to be leaning towards Keiland Williams. He's got 4yd/att vs Torain's 3.1 and has added 5 catches for 68 yards. Something tells me that if he makes the team he'll hold a special little place in Shanahan and McNabb's heart.

I am guessing the Rams wouldn't take our guy, unless we took theirs, or some back room machination like that. So we took him, let him walk in the door, and said dang he's not what we want... Or he walked in and said where are the Maroon and White's for me? We don't give up any pick. We get a pick if Morris makes the Rams (I believe all he has to do is make the team) |

Correct. Rams get nothing from us since we cut Davis...but if Morris makes the team, we get a compensatory 7th-round pick. I'm a little surprised at Dearth making it over Sundburg with still no Red Snapper contact. Also, Edwin Williams because of his versatility to play all 3 positions on the line. |
Re: First Cuts: Holmes, E. Williams, Dearth, Davis
Wow, I was sure that Williams had been our best back up O-Linemen. I was sure he would make the team. Infact, I thought that Dockery had better look out. Oh well, thats why I am not a football scout.

Re: First Cuts: Holmes, E. Williams, Dearth, Davis
Rinehart still needs to beat out Erik Cook for a roster spot, but I like his chances.
Probably only going to keep 8 OLmen at this point, figured this whole time that Williams would be the ninth. Lichtensteiger, Rinehart, and Heyer are the rostered backups. But Cook and Capers will certainly be on call in case of injury. I doubt Jamaal Brown is going to get through the entire season before going on IR, and if/when he does, Capers gets on the active roster. |

Williams is a bit interesting, however the current staff felt that his best value was at center but Rabach and Lichtensteiger were ahead of him and that he didn't play very well at guard against Buffalo. Of course trying out Selvish Capers at guard reduced the amount of backup guards that could stay. |
Re: First Cuts: Holmes, E. Williams, Dearth, Davis
I'm guessing Williams may go on the PS, as might Hall. Not sure if the trade is still valid if we cut Hall and then put him on PS. I'm guessing no
