And what exactly did Gaffney prove over his 10 year career?
He proved he could be productive within our system/playbook even with an inferior QB. Garcon to his credit proved he could be productive within the Colts system/playbook with an inferior QB. But the odds are Gaffney would have a better 2012 w/ RGIII than Garcon because Garcon is brand new to the system/playbook.

But most important is the near certainty that a superior WR, to Gaffney and Garcon, would be available by the 2013 season. So why bind yourself to Garcon, an unproven quantity, for one year (2012)? Gaffney would have been cheaper and more productive by all probability.
11 years in the league, never had a 1,000 yard season, didn't break the 700 yard mark until 2009, never had more than 5 TDs in a season. In fact over 11 years he only had more than 2 TDs twice. Only got close to 1000 yards this season because of the suspension of Fred Davis and Santana's injury. Didn't break 60 receptions until 2010. Redskins fans have really gotta get outta this lovefest for the mediocre. That is what Gaffney is, a mediocre journeyman receiver.
All true, but by all probability Garcon is just another mediocre journeyman WR, albeit younger than Gaffney. Why commit to more of the same when 2013 will almost certainly offer a superior WR?

Again, it's the opportunity cost of Garcon's contract that's key. The opportunity cost of upgrading another position this year, say right tacke, AND the opportunity cost of truly upgrading WR next year.

There is no probability that Gaffney would be more productive at all.

All Garcon has done is gotten better since joining the league. Gaffney on the other hand needed injuries and a suspension to even get close to 1000 yards.

Waterboy is apparently a difficult position to pick up...

In all seriousness, I'm sure our new DB coach has a very particular way he wants his DBs to play. If Morris can get more production out of a crappy secondary, I'll be thrilled.

If you keep talking about (Average Wideout On Tail End Of Career), you will just keep perpetuating the cycle. Only way to quell all discussion is to completely ignore anyone who willingly keeps mentioning his name.

Who? Who, by signing Garcon, are we unlikely to sign in 2013?
moss' weight/shape and speed/quickness
Moss definitely has dropped weight and looks good, shape wise. As far as speed and quickness. His speed, long wise, isn't nearly as good as it used to be, but his quickness, as far as getting off the line / short routes reminds me A LOT of 2005.
If Leribeus is still taking reps at center or if he has gone back to guard.
He worked at guard primarily, but he took some at center as well. They were shuffling the line a lot today. Right now I'd say the OL is going to be irrelevant till TC starts because their trying to find the right guys.
I have a ton of questions.
Some I won't bother asking (that I would like to ask via PM) because they're probably considered competitive advantage questions, . (i.e. how much shotgun did they use in practice? which formations do they use and how often etc...)
Enough preamble:

The OL:

Where is LeRib playing?
How is Jammal Brown looking? The very breif clip I saw of the OL/OTAs last week it looked like he was still limping.
Who is taking the back-up reps at RT/LT?
Which players are taking reps at Center besides Montgomery?
Does Chester take any reps at Center?
Is Kory Lichtensteiger out there yet?

Skill positions:

How many reps does Paul get at TE and with which unit?
Does Morris take any snaps at FB?
How does Cousins look compared to Rex?

DBs

Which Safeties are out there with the 1st unit?
Who is the 1st unit Nickleback/Slot DB?
Which unit and what spot is Keenan Robinson playing RILB or LILB?

DL

What DL unit (1st/2nd) and where does Jarvis Jenksins play (RDE/LDE)?
Does he take any snaps at NT?
I) Read above
II) He looks good and I saw no limping. Full go. Shanahan said he's the healestest he's been. Said Yogo and Pilates has helped. No setbacks or anything. Nothing close to a tweak.
III) Everybody right now, nothing is set.
IV) All, shuffling, the usual OTA stuff.
V) None that I can recall. He's more than likely going to be the starting RG with how he played last year.
VI) No, they're hoping he'll be ready for camp. Doubt he'll be out there for next weeks OTA's or Mini Camp

I) He's been out there with every unit, and he got A LOT of reps today.
II) I can't remember, he was taking snaps, I just can't remember where he was lined up. I can tell you he's real close with Young, so I would think FB may be in the talks.
III) I would say, honestly, Cousins could threaten Rex for #2.

I) They were switching around, but Meriweather was out there a significant amount of the time.
II) Everybody played there today, so I can't say.
III) He's playing with the reserves right now. He got a little bit of work with the #1's. He's playing Perry's spot, so would that be right? He made a nice play against Griffin by swatting the ball down.

I) Again, hard to say with how they're mixing everyone around. He was playing on both sides. It looks like they're going to be a rotating door to be honest.
II) I didn't notice him at NT, but I can't say it didn't happen.

As said, this is OTA's so nobody is really "set" in their position.

I can also tell you Cooley did lose weight, much thinner, but he is SLOW. I really don't see the guy making the team.
