This is the same Redskins team that beat the Saints right? What has changed?
Nothing except that in Week one we thought the Saints were good. They are 2-6.

I don't think anyone has mailed it in but it is past time to realize that we are it that good, where not that good last year, and haven't been good in the past decade with the exception of a few playoff appearances where we were just window dressings and never a factor.

We are several players away from being contenders even in our own division. Is shanty the answer I honestly do not know anymore, I thought he was but I have seen nothing to convince me he can coach this team up, and make solid player evals.

Ill never be done as a fan but I have zero hope at this point for this or next season.
Your saying we don't have talent and I agree but who's fault is that? Mike has been here three years now it's his fault
Once you realize Shanny is not the guy it all becomes so obvious doesnt it? The excuses start to melt away and nothing is left but cold hard facts.
Totally agree. It would be nice if they can dig deep and get on a winning streak. The only team remaining on the schedule I see them losing to is the Ravens. They can beat both Philly and Dallas twice and I'm not too concerned about the lucky Giants. Even if they finish 8-8 it would still be a positive step in the right direction.
Was Carolina on that list last week?
If they finish 8-8 it wouldnt be a positive step in the right direction. It would be a god damn miracle!

I think if we don't end this season at 8-8, Shanahan's gone. I won't feel horrible about it, but I'm still not ready to cry "mutiny" on the Shanahans yet.

If he gets fired, its cool and if he doesn't, that's cool too.

Did Shanny say they shed $100mil worth of salaries in his first year and none of the players they cut were picked up by other teams? I believe he also said there were no players left on Offense from his first year, but that can't be right. Fred Davis, Santana Moss and Chris Cooley come to mind.

I don't think the players have mailed it in, but I do believe the players have lost confidence in the coaching staff. What I think happens is that in the beginning, everyone buys in to what a new regime is preaching, and plays their assignments to the best of their ability. But after repeated failure, they lose confidence in the system they are running, and play for themselves more than anything.

They are still giving 100%, but looking to make plays for themselves than for the team. It's a complete breakdown because football is such a team game. Once confidence is lost in the coaches or the schemes, it's over.

Our best targets on offense, Davis and Tana, were inherited. We can hope all we want for Garcon, but nothing about his stats indicates he'll be a more productive receiver than Moss.

That said, I'm not dumping on our WR corp or downfield targets. I was pessimistic about this group before the season because we don't have a dominant (big) WR or a true burner. But we have plenty of talent to compete. WR talent, in fact offensive talent in general (Polumbus being the exception) is solid IMO.
Once you realize Shanny is not the guy it all becomes so obvious doesnt it?
It was always pretty obvious.

The illusion fell for me after the disasterous 2010 season, allowing me to look at all the moves since then in context. It was always pretty obvious.

I'm just repeating what someone else said. We need to fire our disfunctional fanbase.

Impulsive, heat-of-the-moment, keep this team going from one HC to another, Dan Snyder has plenty of supporters here. This is a surprise to me.

The Giants would have never won their last superbowl if similar minded NY fans had their way halfway through last season.

giants would have never won without eli and a properly built D-Line .....
giants would have never won without eli and a properly built D-Line .....
You know what I mean. NY fans were calling for Coughlin's head halfway through last season. And in '07 as I recall.

I'm not saying we're making the playoffs. Those two "5 in a row or we don't go" runs were special. But we still look just as stupid now as Giants fans did last year.

Teams lose - fans bitch. Teams win - fans stop bitching. Were no different than anyother fanbase.
If Shanny wins a superbowl we will all eat crow ok. I wouldnt hold my breath though.
