Thanks Vinny and Danny!
Over the past few years, I have to believe that we have one of the worst draft history's in the NFL.

The story that Vinny was overruled on Jamaal Charles with the Malcolm Kelly pick would seem to indicate that Kelly was the choice of Snyder, with possible advice from others.

The problem is the Redskins are not patient with young players.

We draft players to let them go. we have focused on the next free agent that we brought in instead of development and depth.

The issue is front office guys like Campbell haven't been listened to enough over the years, something that is supposed to change now.

This.

Belichick wins every year with no-names because he develops talent. We need to follow suit.
The problem is the Redskins are not patient with young players.

Devin Thomas made a couple good ST plays for the Giants 1 yr. AFAIK, that's it.

So I don't think those players we let go have shown much use for development or quality depth (like Jackson). Out of those two drafts, while most of the players provided depth while they were briefly here (like Horton), Jackson (2008) and Orakpo (2009) are the only non-bust picks there, that I see.

... and orakpo was a no-brainer if he fell to us, which he did.

im interested to see what these guys can do. hopefully they can cont to add long term pieces to the decent young core we have now.

Belichick wins every year because he has Tom Brady.

I could use Brady as an example of my point: low-round talent that Belichick has developed. But IMO even if we set that argument aside, the Pats win because of more than just Brady. Belichick just seems to get the most out of his roster top to bottom, including on defense.
Sounds like the guy has a serious problem with weed, probably should seek some help.
I dont think its the most serious problem in the world - alcohol, or hard drugs would be worse. But man to dedicate your life to your craft and make it all the way to the nfl just to throw it away for a friggin weed high ? Wow. Real head scratcher. Must be some really good shit. I just dont understand why u cant wait till u retire. Whats the avg career span? He would probably still be in his 30's at the end. Make your millions and than u can move to jamaica or amsterdam or hell even colorado.

Some NFL folks use weed for its pain- and stress-reducing properties, so they wouldn't want to wait until they retire.

At least at first it is not random testing, there's a defined window of time during which testing happens. So what I don't understand is why he couldn't chill for a few weeks until the testers had finished their job. That's what many NFLers do.

Fred was already in the NFL drug program, which means he was subject to random testing throughout the year.

If you aren't in the program, there is a window in April May I think where you know you are subject to being tested.

That's what I meant by "at first." Yeah, once you are in the program things get tougher.
