Re: Blown Coverages - Who do we blame?!
the blown zone coverages seem to be simple tampa 2 or 3 deep zones where a corner (like amerson) is supposed to drop back deep and play a quarter but doesnt.

Cooley makes it sound like the secondary's problems come from a mix of communication issues and sometimes flat out not doing the right assignment. So to me our secondary problems are more on the players than the coaches. Otherwise, how is Breeland, as a rookie, the best player in the secondary? He's getting the same coaching the other guys are. Not saying Haslett should stay, because you'd think after 4 years he'd have made progress in some basic areas and he really hasn't, but he's never had a lot to work with either. Sadly, I have no faith we'll find more Breeland's in the draft next year, with or without Haslett. It was funny to me a while back when Clark and Breeland said the secondary needed to communicate better, while Amerson and Meriweather were saying the communication was fine. Maybe I'm making too much out of this, but is it a coincidence that Clark and Breeland are Gruden guys? |

Multiple people on talk radio alluding to "Fred Davis" like problems for Amerson.
Absolutely inexcusable. |

Sitting at home being a daddy I assume. No one hired him after we released him. So he's still a free agent. |

Absolutely inexcusable.[/quote] Well....the Redskins need to deal him in the offseason and get something of value for him.....I was very disappointed in his pitiful performance against the Cowboys.....Amerson looked like some sewage....Terrance Williams beat him on the same double move that he got beat with at N.C. State a lot......which is a sign that Raheem Morris isn't fit to coach the secondary....Amerson should not be getting beat on double moves in his second year in the league..... |
