Re: 53-man Roster Predictions
Schefter is backing up the report rg3 will remain on the roster and it has some people in our organization really unhappy.
Folks, believe me when I say this...this is a complete Dan Snyder move. I'd put money on him going to McC and saying no way rg3 is cut or traded. |

And I believe we can cut him at any time this season and not pay him 16 mil? And who cares if he's on the bench? Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk |
What do you mean modify or rescind? They can't change the 5th year option without consent from Griffin and he has zero reasons to let them off the hook.
As for chances of him being hurt are slim. If he's not in their plans at all the even slim chances are to large given the cap hit they would take. I will play Russian roulette with a cap gun. I sure am not with a .45 caliber handgun. Sent from my S6 Edge
People here keep saying this, but I've never heard it anywhere else. Can someone provide a link? |
Hopefully the Redskins cant be this fockin stupid! I pray this is a smokescreen to let the rest of the league know they arent going to release him to try and get a draft pick for him. Then once he clears medical if no one has offered a pick for him then go ahead and let him go.I hope this is what theyre doing, but nothing theyve shown me in the past makes me think they are smart enough to do this.
I won't comment on rumors just what I see or hear. In the last preseason game, when the Redskin defense was on the field RG3 did not appear too interested in the sideline QB meetings with the coaches. He was standing in the group but constantly looked away from what the coach was showing. A small sample but it lends credence to the un-coachable rumors. If I was the GM and saw him doing that on national TV I would de-activate him on the spot. |

Do RGIII and JG look unhappy during the Jacksonville game? You decide.

And who cares if he's on the bench? Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk
That depends on how much drama he and his daddy stir up with social media and the press. If they are as quiet as little church mice and Daddy G stays away from the team, then OK. If not, then they need to go. What if Dan Snyder wants to keep RGIII around in case Jay Gruden loses too many (or perhaps enough, in Snyder's mind) games. In that event, he could demand that Scot fire Gruden and replace him with a HC who will try harder to develop RGIII. Then, it would be "Here we go, again!". One thing I promise myself is that if Snyder ever fires Scot McCloughan over this mess, than I'm done forever with Snyder and his football team. And that is coming from a lifelong Skins fan who was raised in Washington, D.C. |

if you sign a 16m guaranteed deal with another party, you just can't back out of it afterwards because you changed your mind. not without mutual consent - otherwise it's not a contract at all, it's just at will employment. I highly doubt RGIII's agent let the skins put in any kind of team option clause, cause then it's not a guaranteed contract at all. |
Re: 53-man Roster Predictions
the only problem with keeping him is that you can't bar him from practice or the facility (that's be a breach of contract suit), and if he trips and a turf goblin gets him, then we eat 16m from our 2016 team for a player that looks like he has no future here.

Good point. He may need to go regardless of how well he may behave. |

But that's exactly the way the 5th year option works. Griffin didn't sign a new contract, the Skins just picked up that option, which is part of the original rookie contract Griffin signed. If the Skins want to rescind the option for any reason, they can do so without Griffin's consent. |

and once that option is picked up, it's binding. if he's on the roster, he gets the money, if he's not, he doesn't, unless he's hurt, cause the option is guaranteed against injury. |

John Keim
ESPN Staff Writer The Redskins have made at least two more cuts Saturday, releasing tackle Takoby Cofield and guard Tyler Larsen, per sources. The Redskins do like Cofield so it would make sense for them to re-sign him to the practice squad. They have him their highest signing bonus among undrafted players. |
