I guess Kooter likes pooter and has shady past: Lions elevate Cooter despite off-field history Posted by Mike Florio on October 26, 2015, 6:52 PM EDT 452950338.0.0 Getty Images The Lions once employed a defensive line coach who was arrested for driving while not sober and separately for driving while not, well, clothed. Nine years after Joe Cullen showed the folks at the Wendy’s drive-through a different kind of Quarter Pounder, the Lions have promoted to offensive coordinator a coach with a history of off-field problems. Jim Bob Cooter, the team’s new offensive coordinator, was arrested for DUI in 2006, the same year during which Cullen’s arrests occurred. In 2009, Cooter was arrested for aggravated burglary after climbing through the window of a woman’s apartment, stripping to his underwear, and climbing into bed with her. Obviously, folks deserve second chances in life. But in an industry where the supply of competent coaches far outweighs the demand and in light of the league’s post-Ray Rice sensitivities, the decision to move Cooter into such a prominent position seems a bit odd. The timing seems even more odd. The Lions are six days away from playing the Chiefs in London. How much better will the offense become with only a few days to adjust? It would have made more sense to change coordinators after the London game, during the bye. From a glass-half-full perspective, Caldwell surely hopes that making the change immediately after the Lions picked up a sixth loss will propel the Lions back to relevance and, possibly, to contention. Three years ago, the Ravens fired offensive coordinator Cam Cameron and elevated Caldwell into the position, en route to winning a Super Bowl. For Caldwell, the more immediate objective is to win a second game. Plus, dumping Joe Lombardi now could help Caldwell avoid getting dumped during the bye. Either way, the decision to give the job to Cooter will leave plenty scratching their heads. |
True, but when fans go after her on Twitter that is just classless. So Beasley muffs a punt, and your first instinct is to get on social media and attack his wife? Cowboys fans at their best.
Was rooting for the cowboys so we would be tied for first, and was so pissed when he muffed the punt. Bottom line is Cassell was not taking them down the field in a minute anyway. With no timeouts. |

It's like help twice over - eliminate a nemesis in Dallas and misuse and thus ruin him in Philly. I hope Chip coaches there forever. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
