I don't even know any other RB's on the roster after Perine and CT. Kelley will probably be out for a while so I assume they're going to sign someone? They've really fucked up this RB thing. I keep going back to Morris. If you were going to replace him then you better bring in someone better. So far I just haven't seen that.
Should have signed all day Peterson....coulda flourish here |

Does make you think, why not? Yes, we needed to get out of the deal of signing players who were beyond their prime, but Peterson can still play at a high level. |

Idk nothing about AZ's o-line, but Peterson had 21 carries for 29 yards. Seahawks have a good d but that's pretty terrible. Other than his first game there he hasn't impressed either. |
Re: Post game and what needs to be done going forward.
Tough loss.
It looked like once again injuries hold us back even with some of the guys being back: -Zach Brown looked slow and wasn't 100% for sure, his ankle injury must have bothered him quite a lot. -Brandon Scherff obviously wasn't himself either, he got badly beaten on at least 2 key plays late in the game. Some things make me scratch my head though: -Why do we have so many drops (Doctson, Crowder ...) in key moments? -Why did our secondary (minus Swearinger) looked lost? Norman and Breeland were not in the game. Maybe they're still injured. But at some point I was wishing for Dunbar to get in... Now, this being said, we lost against a division leader that is on a hot streak. Offense looked pretty good and we got a chance until late in the game. No reason to burn the house. |
I agree with you to an extent, but it's another killer to depth (as, you mentioned we're already "thin" at the position).
I also wonder whether the crappy turf at FedEx is leading to these Lisfranc injuries. We have seemed to have at least one a year for years now, and I don't know of other teams that seem to face them as often as we seem to do. I cannot help but notice that the injuries to Allen (during the 49ers game) and now Compton both came during home games. It's like the stadium equivalent of the cornballer (for any of you Arrested Development fans out there). |
Re: Post game and what needs to be done going forward.
The injuries to this team is just unbelievable and actually it's hard to believe that it's true. I've never seen a team lose this many starters

AP hasn’t been bad. I think him and CT together running the ball we would have a better running game, just keep him away from the kids. |
Re: Post game and what needs to be done going forward.
Fingers crossed with some reps Perine can do something. Kelley just sucks, I’ve given up all hope on him.

Yup. I thought perine was solid last week |
Re: Post game and what needs to be done going forward.
I also agree with your last thought Matty, Fat Rob had potential but I don't think he's athletic enough to make guys miss, or a banger enough that guys will bounce off of him, and he lacks the vision to quickly ID the hole, or to wait patiently for the hole to open.
It seems rb's can be found in the later rounds, which begs the question as to why it has been so hard for us to find a decent one. Hopefully Perine will develop into that guy. Edit: Chico AP would be a definite upgrade, but he'd also be taking valuable reps away from guys like Perine. He's clearly not willing to split carries with anybody. In a wasted year like this one of the few good things will be our young guys getting valuable PT. |
Re: Post game and what needs to be done going forward.
Also guys, the total absence of home field advantage is getting really embarrassing!
I'm looking forward to being able to cross the ocean and cheer my guts out for them on one game, maybe next year... But I hope the atmosphere out there will be better than what's it has been this year! If you can afford tickets I'm kinda begging you guys: go to some games! Bring some friends and family, try to rally people around you and conquer this stadium back! HTTR for F sake! |

Years and years of bad or mediocre teams, all the while with ticket prices going up and up, along with concessions as well. The fans are sick of it. I can name 5 people who have given up their season tickets after owning them their whole lives, and while I know a lot of you guys probably know many more, I live 4 hours away from DC. Driving 4 to 5 hours home and having to sit in traffic after a crushing defeat, is a truly miserable experience. After years and years of this, the tailgating and "live game experience" just aren't enough to make up for it. I remember not long ago, the Redskins could brag that they were always sold out for every home game ala Packers, and now I get emails every week trying to get me to buy season tickets. It's sad to me what has happened to this once great franchise. |

I dont think our running problems can be instantly fixed by adding 1 runningback. maybe if that is an elite back, but AP aint AP anymore. The lack of running game for years now is baffling to me. Weve put some resources to address it, 3rd rounder Matt Jones and 4th rounder Perine .. but it remains the same. Contact in backfield, lack of RAC, lack of commitment .. re attendance -- its just such a pain in the butt compared to return on investment. traffic, shitty weather, they usually lose. I went to the Panthers MNF game. It was cold, we played like crap but panthers fans were enjoying themselves .. |

AP has been good in Arizona...sans the Seattle game-which Seattle has been the most dominating defense versus the run for the last 5 years. NOBODY runs against them-..... like someone stating before, here's a shocker....Running the ball and defense produces winning football. That's ALWAYS has been the case. The front office needs to get their shit together with the running game. |
