Doug started the game - he was coming into it with a sprained knee. On that sack it bothered him and he came out. Schroeder came in and struggled. Then the first quarter ended, and the most memorable 2nd quarter in Redskins history started, with Doug back on the field. |

For those who want to relive, here is the game in its entirety. For younger fans who may not have seen this, it's a good watch. Should give you a little much needed pride in the franchise.

Re: Bruce Allen FINALLY speaks....at the Senior Bowl
I just watched it. It was a non-contact slip. He wrenched his knee as his foot when out when he dropped back on 1st and 10. Schroeder came in for two plays. Then Doug came back and lit it up.

I've always thought skins lucked out big time on that play and I never hear mention of it{but I'm sure theres still pissed off Bronco fans about it!}But Williams just gives that ball up when he wrenches his knee and a Bronco recovers it,should have been Broncos ball IMO |

Under today's rule the replay would have allowed them to look at it and determine if it was a fumble and clear recovery. But at the time, replay was not used for judgment calls like down by contact. Because the ref ruled Doug down by contact on the slip they couldn't go back and review it on replay. But yeah you're right, they lucked out because the ref missed that the ball came out before he was touched down by contact. Definitely lucked out. But with a final score of 42-10 I feel confident in saying we would have smacked that ass anyway. HTTR |

Momentum can be a big thing,Broncos would have had it on their side of the 50,they go up 17-0 then who knows |

In fact, during the entire second half, the 'skins basically ran one play - counter-trey. Even if they had allowed the fumble on the Williams injury, who knows, maybe the 'skins would've wont 56-17. |
Re: Bruce Allen FINALLY speaks....at the Senior Bowl
This isn't good news for the skins.

Probably, but it weakens the skins position. I don't live in the area, so i rarely attend games, so i personally don't care as much as others where the team plays... but getting in and out of fedex has been a nightmare every time I've been. Id like them in another location with better access to public transportation. I would definitely make the trip more often if that were the case. |
Re: Bruce Allen FINALLY speaks....at the Senior Bowl
Snyder doesn't want it there and Hogan can't get the land ,it's a National Park.If the Skins stay in Maryland then they rebuild on the FED EX site .To me it will be on the old RFK site or somewhere in Loudoun County.

Liz Clarke from the Post was on Czabe's show yesterday. She said based on her reporting and sources she didn't think it was a tactic. |
