Just to put things in perspective...

1. Skinsguy: Look back at the number of posts and my involvement at this site through last season, and then tell me how or why a "fair-weather fan" would spend any amount of time paying attention to or writing posts about a struggling team heading for a 6-10 record. According to the sentiments I've read, if one dares to criticize the performance of Redskin players after a 28-10 loss, that automatically means one is engaging in "hyper-analysis" or is a "fair weather fan". Interesting.

2. Matty: I do not, nor have I ever expected Patrick Ramsey to magically transform into Peyton Manning. Trust me guys, I wouldn't expect 49 touchdown passes from Patrick Ramsey over the course of 5 years, much less one season. I do however, count on a QB of Ramsey's apparent talent to move the ball rather effortlessly against Carolina Panther second teamers in the first preseason game. But hey, judging from what I've read here recently, I was asking WAY too much.

3. Canthetuna: Look man, no hard feelings OK? You and I want the same thing -- for our team, the Redskins, to kick ass and permanently leave the doldrums of mediocrity of which this team has spent the last 12 years. I guess I'm just a little more skeptical after, yes I know, one preseason game. And again, I'm not calling for Ramsey to be traded, cut, demoted or have him strung up by his testicles and caned. He deserves the rest of the preseason and at least 4 to 5 games into the regular season before he gets pulled. One thing you and I can both agree on, I think, is that we need to see some improvement tomorrow night against the Bengals. That's all.

Peace, my brothers.
C'mon guys lets hug it out....... :grouphug:
LOL yeah, I dont have any hard feelings, but, you know what... Clinton Portis didn't gain very much yards, and his YPC were'nt all that high, in this scrimmage. Forget what he's done in the past, that doesn't fit into the scope of my argument, and that's all I really want to do. Hell I wish we'd cut him too...
Well, I don't know I'd go that far in cutting Portis..I personally don't see any sense in doing such, but I digress.

I just think after the preseason, we might have a little better assessment on the regular season. Then again, Spurrier had a winning record in the preseason...so judging the team by what it does in the preseason isn't very accurate.

You have 384 posts. WhoopTie freakin dah! According to the sentiments I've read, if one dares to say anything postive about the team after they lose a preseason game, then they're accused of having their heads up their asses. I was just as disappointed as everybody else here about the overall performance from the game. I thought the first team offense was disappointing! But dare I say anything positive about our offensive line not giving up a sack, Nemo playing well, Brunell playing well, etc.... suddenly I'm wearing rose colored glasses because I happened to take away a few positive things from a preseason game. Heck, when Gibbs was here the first time during our glory years, we hardly (if ever) had a winning preseason....IT JUST DIDN'T MATTER!

You're preaching to the choir lol. You have to read the whole thread. I wasn't actually saying cut portis. I'm not quite sure by your response that you understood that?

Ok. You just really confused me by your first paragraph of your last post. I guess it was just sarcasm. But, I now know where you are coming from! :pi_lightb

Yeah, I've read the whole thread...I authored it, remember? LOL ;) This is a recap of the whole thread.

Skinsguy: "I think there were a few things that happened in the first preseason game that we can look forward to. There were alot of positives and negatives (actual quote from the first post.)"

Rebuttal: Skinsguy, how dare you say anything positive about this team? Get your head out of your ass and bash the team like real Redskins fans do. :biggthump

Re: Putting Things in Perspective
You have 384 posts. WhoopTie freakin dah!
I said look at the number of posts through last season, when this team was stinking it up. Why would a fair weather fan spend ANY time writing posts about a team that was headed for a 6-10 record? I wasn't trying boast about a total of 384 posts. Why, that pales in comparison to your mighty total of 1115 posts! Daseal has the perfect quote at the bottom of all his posts -- "Apparently having unrelenting optimism means your not a fan". Boy, does that ever hit the nail on the head.
According to the sentiments I've read, if one dares to say anything postive about the team after they lose a preseason game, then they're accused of having their heads up their asses.
Next time read more carefully Skinsguy. I said those who are hellbent on defending Ramsey have their heads up their ass -- not the whole team. And even that was in jest. Certainly there were other individuals on the team that had decent performances. Not as many though that would lead me personally to believe there were "plenty of positives".

Sorry to disappoint you, but I've always been more of the skeptical type. If it makes you feel any better, the next time the team loses by 18 points, I'll be sure to butter you up, comment on how lush the playing field looked, how the uniforms were crisp and clean, and how Ramsey's interceptions had such tight spirals so you can feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Re: Putting Things in Perspective

Maybe you should take your own advice and read my posts a little more carefully as well. You keep quoting "plenty of positives" without quoting what the post really said, which was "plenty of positives and negatives."

I can really care less what type of a person you are or who you are for that matter. Sorry to burst your bubble. You're just not that important.

Re: Putting Things in Perspective

Ok, let's "put things in perspective" here.

Just about everyone on this board is passionate about the Redskins and all we want is for them to win. That's what we have in common, what we don't necessarily have in common is a philosophy on what's the best gamplan and personnel to achieve that goal.

And that's good, the whole point of having message boards is to share different opinions and see the good and bad things about the Redskins that we ourselves overlook.

But if these threads start turning into personal pissing matches then the mods are going to be forced to start locking every thread and that's just a waste of time for everyone.

Re: Putting Things in Perspective

I understand completely. I'm sure I can be argumentive sometimes...I never mean to cause problems...heck I love it here!:) I don't mind those who respectfully disagree with me...I welcome other view points! But, I don't respond too well those who do it and act like jerks about it. I shouldn't have to put up with it and won't.

Anyways...enough of that!

No one responds well to that type of stuff. That's why you shouldn't.

This applies to everyone here. If you think that's someone's personally attacking you or being a jerk, just ignore them. No one will think any less of you. If anything they'll think less of the "jerk" attacking you. And if it continues, one of the moderators will step in, or PM one of us and we'll address it. That's what we're here for.

Ok, moving on...

Thanks TAFKAS ;)
If you don't have anything nice to say....

btw, if someone is really itching your jock, there is an ignore feature.

This trolling is pointless and i'm tired of wasting my time reading through it to look for real posts.
