Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
Just heard that Percy Harvin collapsed on the field at Vikings practice and was taken away in an ambulance. Man I hope he's ok.

Percy Harvin collapsed during Thursday's practice and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
Coach Brad Childress said that Harvin had an "episode" and not really a "seizure." It was apparently triggered when Harvin looked at the sky on a punt return and is almost certainly related to his migraine woes. Harvin was trembling and partially responsive as medical personnel got him off the field. Source: Tom Pelissero on Twitter |

Think we posted at the same time in different threads. Harvin has had a really tough summer, feel for the guy...now I need to tell my colleagues to figure out a way to work Favre into the story |

I remember vividly how happy I was the day he committed to Florida. Those damn migraines have plagued him for years. Plus he lost his grandma who apparently played a big role in raising him. My thoughts and prayers go out to him. When he's 100% he's a treat to watch. |

We posted the same time in the same thread. :D
Your post wasn't there before. Harvin is a force on the field...special teams too. Big loss if they lose him, he was probably going to be the main guy this season. Favre loved Sidney Rice, but he's having health issues too. |

It looks like we are down to 10 WR's now. |
Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
He was going to be out for the year regardless of his health.

Man, as if the Bills didn't have enough problems, one of their best defensive player goes down. We may very well have another 0-16 team.

And it says he's been to "expert after expert". As electrifying as he is on the field, this may cripple his career and I'm sorry to see that. Hope he gets better. |

Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
I noticed the other day that the Broncos right now plan on going into the season with D'Anthony Batiste as their starting LT...let that sink in for a minute
D'Anthony Batiste! A guy who represents all that had been wrong with our lack of focus on the OL in recent years...and now he's expected to start in place of Ryan Clady, arguably the best LT in the game...Broncos are screwed |
Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
They're a mess already, Tebow is their best shot at anything this year from the QB position. Orton has proven to be average at best, Quinn is just horrible. They're racking up injuries at RB and no longer have Shanahan's plug-and-play RB system. Dumervil is gone. Clady is gone. They lost Marshall with no comparable replacement.
KC and Oakland improved. They're going 4-12 if they're lucky. Champ Bailey and Brian Dawkins are their best names...but aging. |

The guy might not light up a stat sheet but he does win alot of football games. Tebow is by far the third best NFL QB on the Broncos roster. |

Yes, great move by our F.O.

Do they really believe that a backup on one of the worst lines in the NFL last year is really going to be able to contribute to thier team in a positive way. |

Agreed 100%. Smoot any rumblings on the VJ situation out there in S.D. I know we have talked about it a length but was just wondering if there is any new news on the the kid. Seems as though he is not making any head way with rejoining the Chargers at this point in time. |
Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
I've been calling it all along. This year's Zorn is McDaniels. Year #1 was almost identical for the two of them. Shocking hot start, embarrassingly ugly finish. Year #2 should be the same too.

He's suspended for the first month of the season anyways. |

You can definately make a good comparison between the 2, but Daniels at least called some plays in this league before he was a HC!! :) |

Is Vinny Cerratto working for Broncos? Broncos FO and McDaniels have made an ass out of themselves. The most interesting part of it is when McDaniels first came in, he came off to me as a smug arrogant person. Karma? |

Didn't think so. Was not really looking for an answer of a deal is in the works for the Skins, it was more as a football fan and interested in what happens with a top WR is all. |

If he doesn't sign by today, the Chargers plan to put him on the roster-exempt list...which means almost nothing |

Looks as though the Seahawks are interested in VJ again as well. According to reports on the scroll of ESPN. Discussing contrat terms if I read that right? On a side note. Any one heard what the deal with sellers is yet? I have not read anthing or seen anything regarding his injury. |

Well that doesn't necessarily mean anything. The Seahawks also were at this point with Brandon Marshall but Seattle and Denver couldn't agree on trade terms so it's still early. |

He knows how to run an Air Coryell and will give Cutler handy pointers. |

I can't believe I said that. I'm utterly shocked. No, seriously shocked. Batiste is a utterly shitty LT. Godawful. False starts. Holding. Total whiffs. Replaced by Levi Jones mideseason and cut. |

Russell Okung to miss 2-4 weeks with high ankle sprain.

S. Rice had surgery yesterday, and will be out half the season...

Guess Favre wasn't the only Viking who chose to pass on off-season surgery. Could be a huge loss for the Vikings

Every day, Trent Williams looks more and more superior to Okung, for many reasons. Great job, Bruce and Mike. |

I was listening to LaVar and Dukes about a month ago go on and on about the Vikes and how good they are. I called in and said I think with their injuries to Rice, Harvin, and uncertainy around Favre don't be quick to anoint them NFC champs. They bascially blasted me off the air. Then I said the Redskins could have comparable record this year. They cut the line after I said that. Things in Minni suddenly don't look so good. |

They do have a great defense though. That is thier strength. It will be an uphill battle without 2 of thier top weapons though. |
Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
Rice was a one yr wonder. I doubt he ever has a season like that again
|
Re: Notable Injuries Around the League
I live in SC. saw him play alot of college ball in the SEC at South Carolina. He beat alot of Sterling Sharps record there. What we saw last year out of him was what he did to every SEC team during his college career. The guy is a monster, trust me.
I am not a SC Gamecocks fan either, I just know from watching him he has alot of talent and last year I think was more indicitive of things to come from him rather than one good year. He has speed, size, great hands, and good route running skills to be an elite NFL WR for years if he really works at it. |
