Re: SuperBowl Week
I'll say this: he wants that big, shiny camera on him for EVERY shtick he has (towel around head, Superman pose, dabbing, giving the ball to the kids). If he wants that camera, he's going to get it in good times and bad.

Cam takes as many hits as any qb in the game today, he's clearly not a pussy. Maybe he had a brain fart? If he did, would you still be reacting like this? Would you go apeshit if Kirk Cousins had a brain fart in a critical moment like that? Just to refresh your memory, Kirk Cousins did have a brain fart at a critical moment in a critical game during our season, but since we won all was forgiven. The Panthers lost because they were dominated on offense from start to finish. Maybe they recover the fumble, and go on to continue to lose, again because they were literally being dominated from start to finish. Or what if he dives on the ball and breaks his leg, and they still lose? One play rarely makes or breaks a game (exceptions being the Packers hail mary game, etc.) This one was not going to be the exception to the rule. |
Re: SuperBowl Week
In the end, that was a terrible Super Bowl. If I didn't 20 prop bets I might have fallen asleep.

Me overreacting? I can't believe any of you guys are saying this....lol Apparently you don't know how Panther fans are taking this (not good) because they know that Thomas played with a broken arm and Allen with a broken foot. They were down 6 points with 4 minutes. Recovering that ball could have made a huge difference in the game. This wasn't a brain fart or I would understand that. Him saying he didn't want to get hurt (even though he runs all the time) diving for a ball in the biggest game of the year (probably his life) is something entirely different. Offensive line, QB, WRs, RBs....all were utter shit that game. The sad part of the game is nobody is going to notice how well that defensive unit played against Denver offense. |

Ironically, in the week leading up to the SB, all the pundits were talking about how the Carolina D was going to dominate Denver's offense; which they actually did. But no one thought Denver's D was going to be this good. I honestly thought Denver's D was going not going to be able to keep up and/or be able to carry the game. Overall, it was just amazing to see these two defensive performance. And I'm glad I haven't seen many people complain about this. |

Being from North Carolina, I think of the Panthers as the Redskins younger first cousin. I'm obviously closer with the Redskins and would never even consider dropping them. At the same time, there's a sense of hometown pride with the Panthers. That being said, I would not say the same thing if I lived in Dallas! :)

Re: SuperBowl Week
N C Skins...he had a bad play there, it happens. Maybe it was a brain fart or a split second type of thing where he felt he couldn't get to the ball the way he was standing. Probably came out wrong by him saying he didn't want to injure himself by tying to get the ball. But Cam Newton is not a pussy. How many NFL QB's have you ever seen run the ball into the teeth of NFL defenses the way he does? And continue to stay healthy? Cam's a stud and a tough as nails QB, just had a bad play.

He's human, he goofed big time by not jumping on the fumble. Oh well. Such is life. |

Re: SuperBowl Week
The answer is simple ... he wanted to try and pick the ball up and make a play on 3rd down, not dive on it.
Cam is in a perfect position and distance to dive on the ball ... if he wanted to do that. Here, as he starts to reach down, ware puts his arm out and now Cam is too close and his leg is too stiff to now dive down ... Re: SuperBowl Week
I was surprised by the Panthers strategy on offense. I'm not sure how much difference gameplan made though when everybody underperformed.
OL was losing to their DL. They couldn't run-on didn't make lanes and RBs didn't create, pass pro wasn't good (to include a key missed blitz pickup by Fozzy). Cam lost 2 fumbles. WRs couldn't separate and didn't make any plays and had drops. Talib made Olsen disappear. Brown's injury hurt and Stewart wasn't the same after he got banged up. |

I had no problem with the play to be honest with you. I didn't really question the man's effort or toughness, and I chalked it up to a brain fart. THEN....he started to speak to the media and pretty much blew it from there. How can you do so many things that put yourself out there on the field, and then come tell reporters you didn't want to get hurt? Is he really that dumb or is he just that selfish? denver's D is good enough to be back in the playoffs. they got there with tim tebow at QB and i'd have to imagine osweiler is just a bit better.
that's assuming they can keep the band together. it's more likely they lose quite a few FAs, since people like poaching SB rosters. then all bets are off. |
