our wr room just got a bit more crowded. Is it a stretch to say Doc may not make the team??

I hope we can keep him.

McLaurin, Richardson, Harmon, Quinn, Doctson, Sims.

I think the 1st 4 are locks. If we only keep 5, will be interesting to see if Sims can bump Doctson off the team.

Jimmy Moreland -CB from JMU! Local school, pretty cool!

We are killing this draft now. Moreland is a ballhawk. Love this pick.

Jimmy Moreland, the “other” cornerback at JMU, ended up as the CAA’s postseason defensive player of the year and an All-American. Moreland, a 5-foot-10 179-pounder from Royal Palm Beach, Fla., had five interceptions and returned three of them for touchdowns. The NFL draft starts Thursday and runs through Saturday.

Moreland holds the JMU career record for interceptions (18) and interceptions returned for touchdowns (five). He also had nine breakups as a senior. Moreland was not invited to the NFL combine, but stood out in workouts prior to the East-West Shrine Game and the Senior Bowl.

Nickel Corner type

We need a nickel corner big time. Fab Monreau needs to move to the boundary, he was getting killed second half of season...he’s simply not quick enough inside.

I want to trade back with AZ just to have Mr Irrelevant back to back years.

Edit: or just let the clock run out on our pick.

Wondering the same thing.

I'll be interested to see which undrafted free agents we reach out to. Would we go after a Gerald Willis that way?

Did we just trade our final pick?

edit: No, I'm just losing my mind. I saw MIN in front of AZ.

I would hope we draft him with our next pick. He was projected as a second round pick. His past issues at UF are well behind him and teams have all known about them for years. Crazy. He is absolutely starting material at some point in his career and would be a great rotational guy on the DL year one!

Our team is stacked now, solid OL and DL, great RB's, future solid WR's, LB's, etc. I'm fucking excited and want the season to start now.

Chico23231 04-27-2019 06:25 PM

Re: NFL Draft Rounds 4-7

My only problem I see with the draft...No Love for the RB in the forth. He struggled and then had a season ending injury. I think they were better options at RB at the spot as well as safety, tackle, and TE.

Not getting a TE is straight up negligent by Bruce. Our Run game will be stagnant without better blocking at TE

sdskinsfan2001 04-27-2019 06:28 PM

Re: NFL Draft Rounds 4-7

Another solid pick.

Looks like the TE room will remain the same.

Hail of a draft.

I was thinking the same thing.

Hopefully they like Flanagan and/or Holtz.

Does anyone recall which one of the two Cooley raved about toward the end of last season?

I remember him commenting that one of the two of them had blocked better than any TE on the team since Logan Paulsen.

I agree though. Really uneasy going into the season with the current TE group.

Bruce and Doug get Kyle’s Smith credit, fuck that!! Let’s recognize Kyle as our front office savior.

Time will tell, but I think the potential is there for this to be a really good draft. On paper, this team is much better and deeper. Gotta stay healthy now...

Davis, Sprinkle, Reid, Flanagan, Holtz, can all play WR’s galore. We are fine.

Re: NFL Draft Rounds 4-7

Agree on the TE sentiments in this thread. Gotta hope our old guys can play well for the duration next year, or we find a hidden gem in the undrafted free agent pool. Next year, TE will be a draft priority for sure.

I think our D though, will be absolutely terrific.

And I also think our OLine will be a strength, which will allow for a potent running game to control the clock, putting us in position to win.

No one in this draft has played a down yet. Let's slow down on calling Smith a savior.

I can't believe he hasn't been drafted. The kid from Penn State is a shitty passer and he got drafted by Baltimore The Ravens basically have 3 read option QB's that suck at passing.

Rypien is signing with the Broncos as a FA.
