Re: The Gameday Thread: Philly at Washington
Thank you. Everyone else is blaming everything and everyone saying it was bad players, bad calls, bad coaching, bad free agency, bad draft choices, bad press conference...
Defense did great. Offense couldn't get anything going and somehow only a 7 point game.
Defense shut them out in the 2nd half. |
Re: The Gameday Thread: Philly at Washington
Our offense has been holding this team back for years. We need to find the damn end zone more than not. I want to Beck with a full week of pratice with the 1st team. We also have 2 injured O-lineman so that will hurt us even more on offense.
Defense grade A- Offense grade C-
How do you give our Defense a grade of A- when putting in the crappiest half of the season, they were dominated, it was almost humiliating, and the abuse they took probably played into the fatigue that let the nail be put in the coffin because they couldn't stop the Eagles running game to close out the game. Much of the first half defensive issues had to do with coaching, granted, adjustments were possibly made at halftime, but i believe that was just as much the Eagles adjusting their offensive calls with a 20 point lead. Defense grade: C+ Offense grade: D Coaching: C Coaching considering they had 2 wks to prep: D |

Re: The Gameday Thread: Philly at Washington
Yes, it's a loss but...
Everyone is overreacting in my opinion. This team is still 3-2 and hopefully with more reps Beck can do a better job. Honestly, I don't see why he can't at this stage of the game. We held a very, very explosive Eagles team to two touchdowns on a day when they're backs were up against the wall. Bottom line, Grossman doesn't come up shit the bed, it's completely different score. No question in my mind. I'm just personally relieved that Shanny will put the Grossman era behind sooner rather than later. |

Our defense was beat up in the first half by a 1-3 team. The second half was how they were supposed to play. We can not go man to man as much we did in the first half against that kind caliber WR's. Haslett need to stop reading the press clipping and play with in the talent level of his defense. |
Re: The Gameday Thread: Philly at Washington
I agree. Some weakness' were exposed in our interior run stopping in nickel.
Orakpo was very undisciplined in gap control. he gave up several long runs to RB and Vick scrambling. He tries to go for the sack every play. He has to play smarter and in control. Our other OLB is out playing him. The Eagles pro bowl LT moving Bowen around like he was on skates. H e probably does that to a lot of people. We can not go man on man to much with the Eagle WR'S. Second half adjustments helped.
The Celek TD was due to Orakpo not respecting the TE being able to break into a route. Kerrigan did identify it on "that play" against Dallas. |
There is no excuse for a team with this type of talent not to at least make the Wildcard round.
I think you are out of your mind. (unless you are referring to the Eagles) |

yup and made plays to put the offense in good shape. Ill say it again, you hold the Eagles offense to 20 points, you should be able to make plays on offense to win the game |

After on loss, you guys are hyper critical. Sweet Jesus.
People rarely criticize the coach around here...well except during the Zorn era. |

Choosing one thing or a couple things that you didn't like is fine. But, blaming everything and everyone I think is a poor way to look at the game. |
Re: The Gameday Thread: Philly at Washington
the way we responded in 2nd half made me proud of Skins' ... we have heart .. Defense is only getting better .. if bullshit call of roughin passer wasn't called in first half game would have been totally different IMO .. Rex did shit the bed ... cost us a chance 2 destroy Iggles season .. Beck looked "elusive" .. 3-2 .. tough game 4 sure ..... regroup we had a wack game running and 4 BAD picks yet still had a chance 2 tie game if D wasn't completely gassed ... hopefully Pats beat Cowboys

Again. How many years have we been "building" this team? I'm waiting for this team to finally be built. I'm only 24, I wanna see a Skins super bowl before I die, damnit. At this rate I'll be waiting into my 30's. |

I think we have a lot of talent on our team. Enough to get us to 9-7. A new QB might just be what our offense needs to live up to its potential. |
