Does the Schouman signing mean anything for Logan Paulsen? I would assume it's just a depth signing - I thought the skins were pretty happy with Paulsen, not to mention Davis and Cooley. Probably just camp competition...

I will take any QB that went to the Bill Belichick School of Football any time...

"Rich Campbell
Redskins sign QB Matt Gutierrez and release former UVA QB Marc Verica. Gutierrez has been with NE and CHI."

I to will take anyone from the Belichick school of football. Everyone that is except athletic pass rushers. Belichick can't seem to find one to save his life. I think the last real pass rushing threat the Pats had was Seymour. Though Banta-Cain had a decent year after they traded Seymour.

Playing corner though for the Patriots though is the NFL equivalent of a doctor getting a medical degree from John Hopkins or Emory.

Interesting comments from BA today on 106.7 The Fan DC. They never reached out to Cullen Jenkins, and they were never interested in a QB to compete with Beck and Rex this off-season.

Not quite what I've heard about CJ, but I'll trust Allen here because he would know. And I think he's being a bit sneaky with his QB response. Because they were definitely interested in a couple of QBs. But maybe, in their minds, not specifically to compete with Beck and Rex. Not now at least.

I think its more of embarrassment that CJ didn't take their offer which they thought was a good one, and that they have faith in Bowen and don't want him to feel unwelcome (as well as start any kind of Haynesworth controversy)

Not sure what they would be embarrassed about with C. Jenkins, the rumor was a handshake deal was in place and the last second he tried to up his price and the Skins said thanks but no thanks.

GM are about as honest as a politician is. I don't believe for one second that they didn't reach out to Jenkins. What's he going to say? "Yeah, we tried to get CJ, but he shut us down so we had to go with Plan B which is Bowen". Yeah, that'll give a great confidence boost to your FA you brought in.

That's the sense that I got as well -- I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, time to change the perception about the skins

maybe allen is being truthful - they werent interested in bringing in a QB to compete with Beck and Grossman - they were looking to bring in someone to start and it just didnt work out.

BA felt the entire 53 man team needed an upgrade, QB was not the most important position nor should it capture all the attention.
