Re: 2011 NFL Draft
What if they love Locker..but love (for example) Andy Dalton AND Phil Taylor more?
SS, I know you've acknowledged that that is an "example." But, is that truly an example or actual feelings of the coaching staff? Do they really love Dalton more? Basically I'm saying I don't want the redheaded kid that played Junior in "problem child" quarterbacking my team... |

Yeah. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
The NFL has notified teams that if they discover any "handshake deals" are taking place right now, there will be hell to pay. Serious, serious ramifications.
Like when the Minnesota Timberwolves had to give up something like 5 consecutive 1st round picks for knowingly violating the salary cap
McShay and Kiper were talking about this the other day. They described it as teams won't be getting a slap on the wrist so much so as the league will opt to simply cut the hand off. Basically I came away from the segment terrified for any team that tries to pull a "handshake deal." |

Well I think it might be a slightly divided camp...but I was merely using them as an example |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
^ SS any word on The teams interest in Julio Jones or do u think they will go WR in FA?
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
I haven't heard any interest in JJ
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Ok you would think we would at some point add a WR this offseason
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
My question is how can you determine what deal was a handshake deal and what isn't legit ? It seems a little off because rumors start sometimes with no merit, and just say that a deal was made that was rumored as a possibility does that automatically make it illegal ?
|
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
^ what deal? Sorry I'm lost

Well it'd be tough to prove I suppose (like free agent tampering), but let's say Gabbert felt all the way to #7 and the Niners pass on him and take Prince. Then as soon as the CBA allows for player trades again, the Niners trade Prince to Philly for Kevin Kolb, that could lead to some suspicion |

Sidney Rice could be the answer if they change the RFA rules with the (hopefully) new CBA. |
Re: 2011 NFL Draft
An interesting two-round mock draft by the NFP's Wes Bunting.
