I hope you are right, they still need help almost everywhere. |

I wouldn't say almost everywhere, but right tackle, safety, cb, and ILB are positions I hope they smartly address in the 2nd thru 4th rounds of the draft if we can get any more with smart trades. If not and we stand pat at our picks, needing to be addressed in order IMO is off tackle, cb, and then safety. We could get a solid ILB, another athletic tight end since Gruden likes two tight end formations, and maybe a red zone threat WR or 3rd down back with our 5th thru 7th round picks. All I know is they have some flexibility to go BPA in this draft and add some much needed young depth to the team with currently serviceable pieces plugged in this season already that can learn their roles without being forced into starting before they're ready. It will be nice having a first round pick again next year though that's for sure. |

C,G, T, TE, DL ILB, OLB, CB, and S most of the free agents they signed are temporary fixes |
C,G, T, TE, DL ILB, OLB, CB, and S
most of the free agents they signed are temporary fixes
Olb and dl - no. Te - no. Reed and Paulsen are fine. You cannot have stud backups at every position. We have alot of young d-backs that may look alittle better in their second year - especially with the push that Hatcher should give our dline. ILB, and oline on the rite side. That is all. We have six picks in the draft to address our oline an ILB and maybe a dback. Not nearly as lacking as you think. Of course injuries can derail what we have going on but last time I checked that can happen to any team in the league. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
I hope we're not done in FA. We only need about $1MM in cap space to sign our draft picks and there are possible cuts and restructures that could be done to create more cap room.
I'd like to see the Skins sign a RT, even if they plan to draft one. I've mentioned Winston and Clabo a hundred times but I guess I can't say it enough that I think one of them could help us in the short term. I don't want to start the season with a turnstile at RT. I also like the idea of picking up Owen Daniels as insurance at receiving TE. Either Johnny Jolly or Terrence Cody might be a decent pick up at NT. Anthony Spencer, if he can get healthy, would be an awesome pickup at OLB. We can wait for him. One year "prove it" deal. I'm starting to think that the Skins may be done with Rob Jackson. If not, I'd like to see him picked up for depth at OLB if we can't get Spencer. |

most of the free agents they signed are temporary fixes
C,G - late round at best RT - 2nd, or a trade down - pick up extra pick, then mid 2nd, or 3rd TE - 4th or 5th DL - doubt we do anything here at all ILB - 3rd 4th or 5th OLB - not sure we would do anything there. CB - again unlikely S - 2nd, 3rd or 4th at the latest That's what I see at least |

I know next year will have a large cap hit for him, but I am still impressed with Allen's ability when it comes to contract and cap management. At this point signing Clabo or Winston would seem like a good move to me. If we are going to do more 3 or 5 step drops Polumbus is just a pure liability. |

OLB Orakpo is a free agent next year, and there is no depth DL- there is no true nose guard TE- Paulson is very average, in two TE sets you need 2 good ones, this is a good draft for TEs maybe a dback ? Clark will be 35, a safety is crucial |

As i said Hatcher should help the pass rush and than these young guys can prove themselves without having to cover a damn wr for five or ten minutes at a time. Lol I understand about Orakpo and depth, but for now we have him and I think oline needs to be adressed first and foremost. |
