Also fo the ones that say you should have more money because your owner works harder and get more revenue from his stadium and team. I'm sorry to let you down but your team gets the same then others every team has the same cap amount asign the only thing that would change is that your owner and our owner would lose more money. because they would have to pay more to the NFL and NFLPA because they make more money trough sales, endorsment, tickets,etc... and they don't whant 2 and I agree if I'm making more money because I have exploided my brand (Cowboys - Redskins) why I should make the same revenue as Arizona that has done nothing to earn it.
It would basically be the same situation that it is now. If the Cowboys and Redskins make the most money in the NFL, then yes, we would lose more money to revenue sharing than other teams who don't make as much. That is obviously happening right now, which is why Jones and Snyder have opposed signing an extention on the CBA. |

If I was Jones and Snyder I wouldn't oppose it as well. I work hard make money for my team to pay back bills or what about make a few bucks. Then teams that don't work hard come calling and say we wanted a pice of your pie! The hell with that!!! The Goverment get thier share so why would I wanted to give more away to teams that don't work hard to raise cash flow? :headbange |
Re: If the extension to the CBA can't get done, then what?
In defense of D'BOYZ, he's a pretty stand up guy (even if he is a little msiguided and roots for the Cowboys). He's been pretty respectful of us Redskins fans and he usually makes good points.

Re: If extension to the CBA is done, then what?
This could get us into the Friday Compliance. Then, they would need to work on the veterans to take pay cuts to get some guys back. I'm sure they will be working hard to have a few pay cuts worked out so some of these guys don't have to go. Yes I know that this leaves us with a skeleton roster, but I think that it may be just that come Friday.
Cap Now 116793 Bowen 2000 Harris 2000 Ramsey 1688 Noble 1700 Thrash 875 Sellars 495 Prielou 550 Betts 545 Hall 1180 Raymer 985 Tupa 601 Farris 460 Brown 460 Riley 460 Sykes 385 Carter 385 Burns 385 Johnson 385 All Mins at 310 4030 All Mins at 235 2350 94874 95000 If someone could tell me how to paste excel data in here and make it look better I would really appreciate it! It always screws up the format.
So now that Brunnel restructured, that could save Thrash, Sellars, and Betts... If the Cap moves to $96,000 then we can also keep Prielou and Brown or maybe even sign Royal or Clark. |

Thrash is gone. betts and sellars are near the bottom of the keep list. Brown and prioleau probably won't be back and the skins may draft instead of resigning royal. |
Re: If the extension to the CBA can't get done, then what?
I believe the team will be fine because we have planned for this situation and inturn have implemented some strategies to get our cap number down

Yeah the basic problem with the owners is Total Revenue Sharing right now teams don't share things like Stadium name gross, Radio deals, stadiums or team sponsor,etc.. So low revenue teams complain that high revenue teams, like Cowboys, Redskins, Texans, Cleveland have more money during FA to give players large Signing Bonus and it hurths their chances to compete. The High Revenue teams are argueing that they need that revenue because the have mostly larger depts Houston,Washington, Cleveland have build new stadiums and obviusly they didn't pay them up front they took lones wich they have to pay. Dallas will be in the same both this year once the Stadium starts to get build. Their points is that they had to take more sponsor and exploid their brand to get the revenue necesary to pay for those stadiums. I have to agree with the High revenue teams the idea of a cap is to be competitive NOT EQUAL and if they want to have more revenue well people start finding ways to exploid your brand. Win some titles for a change change your uniforms like NE did 10 years ago they started to get more revenue and once they won titles are now one of the high revenue teams. The other problem is with the Union the Owners have offerd 56.2% of the revenue for the players the Union wants at least 60% I can see this going to 58% to get settle because the union needs the CBA more than the owners. And for the rest of you the CAP has been anounced at 94.5 mill and the deadline to get in to the cap has been moved from 4pm to 10pm so they can have more time to settle the CBA and don't drop more players. So start to make your predictions of who would restructure his contract besides brunell and how many players would get cut if the CBA doesn't get sign tonigh. |
Re: If the extension to the CBA can't get done, then what?
The skins will be stuck this year (06) because they are so snug against the cap they will have to make some cuts to get under but will not be able to sign any worthwhile free agents. Look for redskin cuts but not much in the signings. 06 is looking to be a write-off for the skins.
The skins are banking on making hay in 07, the uncapped year, when they will be able to throw around $ and try to sign an all pro team and win it all. |
Re: If the extension to the CBA can't get done, then what?
Yeah if no CBA is signed I would have to change my early prediction as having you guys as the best team in the division this would be a tough year to swallow.
Also remember the 2007 season won't be so fun as you all think first to become a unrestricted FA you would need to be a 6 year veteran not 4 so that would take a lot of prospect out of the market also teams will have 2 Franchise tags isntead of 1 so that Also takes away players. Don't believe 2007 will be a high revenue team wet dream, 2008 will have a better taste. Also I don't think Snyder want's to drop so many players he want's a new CBA because he doesn't want to start over hey it has taken him 10 years (if not more) to get this franchise in form you really believe he want's to start over when he is so close 2 the big event. |

Not that much, He is just a guy who was able to contribute in the system and has a very low salary. He is expendable, but servicable. Would be about the same as keeping Farris, but would probably lose his job to a draft pick down the road. Notice, I already have us hanging onto most of the core guys. |

its either brown or 2 1st year guys. when you're pinching every penny to get up to X number of warm bodies as cheaply as possible, he's probably not in the plan. DBOYZ, look in the CAP analysis threads for who gets cut. basically if no one restructured, we'd keep 13 guys that'd cost money to ditch an have 34 1st year player and a 47 man roster. brunell alone means we can keep 3 more starters (washington, samuels, jansen) and it looks like many others are going to convert option and base salary (for 2006 and 2007) into signing bonus money (as well as taking actual pay cuts) to keep as many players as possible. going into 2007 with only 13 good players (+ draftees) really wouldn't give me much hope because of how many holes and depth problems the skins would have. I think everyone realized that (danny offered 1 billion dollar over the next 25 years to help try for a cba to keep this team together). The players all know helping danny out before the whole thing goes crazy is definately in their best interests too. |
