I mean the Joey Harrington who just beat the Bears and Chiefs. Two teams that would obliterate us right now.
It's news to me that JOEY beat the Bears and Chiefs. Joey had a QB rating of 66 against the bears and threw for 137 yards. Against the Chiefs Joey had a QB rating of 71 and threw for 200 yards. Also, just so you know, those aren't the only games Joey's played in. He's been dreadful against most opponents.
He is right by comparison, I would put Moss straight up talent wise with Harrison, El, and Lloyd combigned are better than Wayne and co. and Cooley is as good or better than D.Clark. Is Portis better than any back they have? You tell me? And he's right our lines are very comparable. so what's the problem??????????????????????
Why is it that you say Moss is right up there talent wise with Harrison? You also praise El, Lloyd, Cooley and Portis. Yet you dedicate an entire thread (for at least the second time) to Gibbs inability to evaluate and acquire talent?

Could you, or anyone, explain to me how this isn't contradictory?

Here's the thing Sherrif. Brunell usually doesn't "win" the game for us either. How many times have you heard "manages the game". Obviously, Harrington has done well managing the game against two good teams.

Did he give up any 70 yard TD returns? Brunell manages games from the Enron handbook.

There, now your "quote" stands corrected.

Welcome! We hope you have more to say than the two cow-not-quite-men comments you've managed to squeeze into this thread.

Even 5-rings and sandtrapjack, two other cow-not-quite-men have added substance to discussions. You can too if you put your little mind to it!

MB is tough as nails, but I felt it was time after the first week's result.

Dude, do you really want to talk about the draft picks that we have pissed away for nothing?

Do you follow our personnel moves?

By the way, Champ is basically a lock for defensive player of the year. We have drafted two corners in the first two rounds since he was picked. One is gone, the other is viewed as a bust.

Let me know if you want to continue down this road.

I think you're missing what I'm saying. Offiss says Gibbs has no ability to evaluate talent, that he won because of Beathard providing him players. Yet at the same time he says look at all the talent we have-Moss, Cooley, El, Lloyd, Portis.

So all I'm asking is which is it? It's like when he said Portis could be the best back Gibbs ever had. That he was perfect for Gibbs, but at the same time he says Portis is just a product of the Denver system and is overrated. Maybe he's schizophrenic. Maybe Offiss is two people. I don't know.

hey giggity, and you make a good point. why not come out super aggressive and try to outscore our opponent? our defense isn't getting any better. lets take the air coryell approach

Hey Gig. It's all good. I see how it is. I'm just David Patten in your Brunell world. That's how you roll

One of the things most disturbing to me is.......Brunell does not look comfortable, confident, and hasn't. His feet don't look set. Good protection or not, you have to figure out a way to get comfortable enough to play. If he is not confident, is the team confident in him? The lack of O production is not all his fault, but does the team believe he can do it? if not, are they puttin' out?

I will gladly, How bad can you possibly be when trading for NFL established talent? You would have to be blind not to get some of those moves right, has there been some good moves? Of coarse, you can say that about the most inferior teams in the league, but what do we have, and what good has it done us? We have 3 WR's with no one to get them the ball, we need an allstar cast on the O-line to give Brunell the kind of time he needs to produce consistantly, do I really have to go over the rest of the moves and how bad or unessassary they were? There are some obvious pickup's but really even though I feel they are very talented they haven't remotly produced to justify thier salaries.

Further more could we have lightened up on the WR's this year and possibly have drafted one and maybe done something with the O-line? We have given up way to much the last 3 years in picks which could have been used to really build a lot of depth and replace some starters.

but heres the big problems

Brunell 43mil and a 3rd rd pick

Portis 52 mil a 2nd rd pick and Bailey [now I know Bailey had to go but we could have taken draft picks and turned them into players and drafted Stephen Jackson who suited Gibbs offense. As you know I am not a big Portis guy [I didn't praise him in that quote]and have felt we would be better off with the picks, the money, and Stephen Jackson or even a Larry Johnson in Gibbs smash mouth type offense.

AA how about 30 something mil for a player is now pretty much on the bench

Campbell can't get off the bench, Money here isn't the problem it's picks and possible wasted time on a QB who can't beat out Brunell, enough said

Carter another big signing and I don't see anythiong special about this guy up til now.

Rocky can't beat out Holdman and we gave up a 2nd round pick next year because we had to have him.

Everything Gibbs has done is not bad [Taylor, Cooley] but we sure could have been much better and have a much better cap situation if things were done differently.

Re: Brunell is all class and tough as nails...but now we have to say goodbye

Archuleta, I agree, has been a disaster. I've been disappointed overall in Carter. But he's still young and I still think he's got a bright future.

I don't want to keep talking about Campbell, but I indirectly will in addressing Rocky. Why do people think that Rocky can't beat out Holdman or that he's some sort of bust because he's not starting right now? Was he drafted to be our starter right away? I mean, I wanted us to get a DT in the draft. I didn't think we needed another LB really. But I don't understand the sentiment that he had to be the answer right now.
