And having Carlos Rogers 6 yards off on third and 3 is completely assinine. So what if he gets beat deep. At least force the QB to make a good throw! This is the kind of thing I talk about when I say he's trying to be the best D. Sure if you roll Rogers up into press, he's gonna get beat deep sometimes. If you don't, he get's beat short ALL the time. That shouldn't even be a decision but we are making the wrong one.
Bend Don't Break! perfectly explained, thank you. too bad it's just really poorly executed by us and on the wrong down to boot.
It's almost like he was saying "Ok Al, I made the change at QB you've got your guy now." Now he's turning his attention to Williams and saying "so what the hell is your issue?"
That's exactly what he SHOULD be doing. This defense should have been the main area of concern since the beginning of the season.

i think that we need a simpliler system not a Assosiate head cach defense and a defensive coordinator, isn't that the same thing?
Sorry. Goldston, even though he is a rookie has shown me nothing. What is his strenghts? He can't stop the run. I have watched him get moved out of position on run downs time and time again. And he gets no push on pass plays. So to me he is a back-up at best.
At least Golston can get on the damn field, our second round LB, cannot even beat out Warrick Holdman! I don't want to hear any more about how talented Griffin is or anyone else on the D, everyone on that unit is expendable. Gibbs needs to tighten things up, full pads in practice, hell bring in guys off the street and run this thing like a 7 game tryout for who is going to be here next year. All of this coddling, and babying, of players makes me sick, it is FOOTBALL for God's sake. It is a violent and physical game. When I think of guys like Joe Jacoby, Gary Clark, Darrell Green, Don Warren, Monte Coleman, and Russ Grimm, these current pukes are not worthy of wearing the team colors. There a few guys on this team that worth their contracts: Portis, Campbell, Moss, Cooley, and Washington.

Yeah, you think we'd be better off having tryouts for defense and taking the best 11, instead of dishing out huge contracts for specified players from other organizations. Guys that come and tryout for the team would perform better or at least try harder than some of these guys.

I think this is a big problem. Shouldn't Al, who supposedly has complete control over the offense get the personel he wants on the field when he wants it? Seems silly for the man controling the offense not being able to pick the players he wants on the field.
It is funny how some of you guys can't get passed this thing with Joe Gibbs and Mark Brunell, but you can completely ignore the fact that the real reasons why we're losing games are the defense and the inconsistent playcalling from Al Saunders. I'll admit, I was very excited to see Al Saunders coming here, but this team wins with Joe Gibbs football, and they're not playing Joe Gibbs football.

A side note...I think Jason Campbell played more than well enough to have won us a ball game, but he has completely NO HELP from anybody else with the exception of Loyd, ARE, and Cooley.
you took the words right out of my mouth..
more than anything we want redskins football and this aint redskins football....and it,s killing me...i would have loved to see campbell in sooner this year though.
