Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
This post is spot on. Snyder is the current steward of the franchise and as such, can reap the profits, but he doesn't truly OWN the team. The team belongs to the tens of thousands of Redskins fans out there. Past, present, and future.
We can only hope that something happens, on the field or in his life, that finally opens his eyes to reality. Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
I understand ALL the frustration this season has brought, as I feel it to. The Dan has taken a beating in the media like never before as the tyrannical, meddling, egomaniac who has single handedly dismantled my beloved Redskins.
THAT may be true..............but it may not. Anybody here know him personally? He would deserve the same thing anybody else would want. To be accused and convicted of his NFL crimes on fact rather than speculation, and hearsay. I'm not saying he is not guilty, but things are frequently not what they seem? |

Why the F are we not looking at Levi Jones?! I don't care what his background was, he was at least competent for the Bengals and could give us SOME hope for the season. As things stand, unless Samuels comes back, we're absolutely done. |

I think he's damaged goods, bad knees if I recall correctly. |
Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
well as the season continues and the redskins continue to handout winless teams their first victory. It doesnt look good for the moral of the team. Me personnally, I dont put no blame on the Snyder, he has done everything possible to bring talent and turn this organization into a top contender. We as fans have gotten used to the way he constantly made changes, that we now expect him to be his old quick trigger self. He is finally giving an opportunity to a 1st time coach, following the guidelines that Joe Gibbs said this team needs longevity. And we are ready to jump ship. Call me crazy, but I am impressed by the way Snyder has taken this whole situation.

Nothing bad, if that's what your implying, but some sort of epiphany that lifts him out of the mire so he can see the truth. I think that can only come from people inside his trusted circle; family, clergy, hero [Gibbs]. Whatever. Another poster posed the question, maybe Dan isn't as bad as he seems? Maybe he's just misunderstood? Possibly. If that's the case, he needs to state his position publicly. He refuses to do so, claiming that no matter what he says, he's misunderstood and pilloried in the media. Well, maybe he should prepare for such an annoucement before spreading the word. Being secretive only exacerbates the problem. Here's my position. Somebody has to be held accountable. It happens for us regular schlubs all the time. Why should the Redskins be any different. I suspect, like many, that it isn't just one thing [QB, coach, etc.], but a multitude of things. More reason for the owner to explain how things got the way they are and a general plan of how to rebuild this team. |

I couldn't disagree with you more about Dan Snyder. He is at the root of all of the Redskins' problems. His insistence on being involved in personnel matters through a puppet GM and his hiring of a man who is not qualified to be an NFL Head Coach to lead the team are the primary reasons we are in this mess. |

There are other problems with this post, but I'm really to busy to be wasting time here. |

I don't put no blame on the Snyder either...I put all the blame on the Snyder! Seriously though, Snyder, in my opinion, is not all at fault. But, while it's very commendable that he'll do anything possible it takes more than that. He's a good owner in that sense that he almost never says no to what he and his coaches want...he'd be great if he sometimes did |

The one thing he won't do is give anyone complete authority, and that is what this team needs. The truth is, Snyder wants to be GM more than he wants to be the owner. They're two distinct roles, and Snyder can't fulfill either one adequately. I think Snyder cares a lot about the success of this team, but he cares more about himself. He'd rather be the GM of a worthless team, than be the financier of a champion. |

I will have to agree, when we look at the product he is putting on the field.....it ain't good. Exactly how it got in that shape may be another matter as it happens behind the scenes |
Re: Looking ahead, it's only going to get worse
If Zorn loses to KC he is gone after the game IMO, but Snyder could keep Zorn until years end use him as the reason we had a losing season. I registered over at ES and i couldn't take the lack of common sense, how people think we are a one player away from a championship trust me they will believe him too.

Maybe so, but no possible way it's worse than we have now. |
