Re: Down time things to talk/think about.
I got hyped about him last offseason and he didn't do much of anything so I don't see the attraction to him this year. Don't get me wrong i would love a surprise out of the kid. If he can take over for Carlos at the end of the year that would be awesome!
What are the Football Outsiders rate of being correct about thier projections? |

Not a great article for us about NFL organizational rankings.
What a crock. Allen and Shanahan both have very successful track records and have made great moves so far. Snyder has stepped away from football decisions, which was the main complaint about him. Simply firing Vinny should have moved us up a ton of spots. Dallas fan write this? |

Hmmm. I'm thinking that August and Preseason football is almost here. Hellz yeah!

Dallas fan write this?
Football Outsiders wrote it and it was on ESPN's website as an insiders article. There's a new thread about it now with the whole article. |

Who do you think it will be? |
Re: Down time things to talk/think about.
I'm realistically optimistic. So I would call us a border line playoff team, fighting for the final wild card spot. But I do think we have enough talent to leap frog Dallas and the Giants. So us winning the division isn't impossible.

Re: Down time things to talk/think about.
5. Justin Tryon, CB, Washington Redskins
It's hard to make much of an impact in the Washington secondary. Over the past few years, no team has dedicated more resources to the defensive backfield -- both draft picks and free agent cash -- than the Redskins. Yet, while DeAngelo Hall allows countless completions and LaRon Landry overruns play after play, the team unearthed a bona fide starting corner in the fourth round of the 2008 draft. Tryon only started two games during his second year in the league, but he played like he belonged in the Millionaires' Club. According to the Football Outsiders game charting project, Tryon allowed 5.8 adjusted yards per attempt, nearly a half-yard better than any other Redskins corner. Despite spending time in the slot, Tryon didn't allow receivers to get open deep; passes at him were only thrown an average of 7.8 yards away from the line of scrimmage, the lowest figure -- by far -- among Redskins corners. He took Fred Smoot's job away during the year, and while he has to beat out Phillip Buchanon for the nickel job in camp (spoiler: he will), he may have Carlos Rogers' starting job in his back pocket by the end of the season.
Oh I just came into this thread. You can go ahead and close that new thread I just posted on the topic then if you want to keep it in here. |

It was as we thought. |
Re: Down time things to talk/think about.
I don't know much about that article. It was pretty weak with out much info. I would like to delve into some of El's comments with a more thought out and better developed list of questions about the subject. I imagine things were crazy with Zorn and all the cooks in the kitchen, but I would like a little more info from him other than a pft 2 paragraph blurb about Dan Synder.
