It would be nice if we could keep the partisan comments out of this thread. Thanks.
Well done to the U.S. military and Intel personel who sacrifice so much for our safety and security. God Bless them, those who were lost in this 10 year manhunt, and the families they left behind. Thanks to their actions a truly evil person will now answer for the pain and suffering he caused to so many innocent people.
God Bless America.
Well said SS33 ! |
Got him in a good old fashioned American Gun fight. And by the looks of the death photo, they wiped the grin off his face before they did the deed. I would give those troops my first born male if they wanted him.

re: Bin Laden Killed
Fantastic news. Now, hopefully, this will mean the operation in Afganistan is done, and the troops can all come home.

re: Bin Laden Killed
Massive thank you to all the troops and everyone in the intelligence community for all the hard work they've put in over the years to bring this asshole down. Osama may represent one small piece of the terrorism puzzle, but it's a great thing he's dead.
On a side note the dumbasses that were on tv hyping this up like the war on terrorism is over need to get the cameras taken off them asap. We don't need to give the rest of the world more reasons to hate us or want to retaliate against us.
That is also factually incorrect. Al Qaeda is certainly weakened but not dead. Other groups, such as Jema Islamiyya, Abu Sayyaf, and Lashkar e-Taiba, remain in play. The war on terror has seen an important victory but not the finish line. |
re: Bin Laden Killed
a yahoo political article made a good point - the way this op was carried out should send shivers down the backs of any other terrorists in hiding. It may have taken several years, but did anyone here think the US was capable any more of the patience and the type of cloak of silence needed to carry out this operation? Every terrorist now has to double back, and re-check their methods of communications and worry just a bit more.

re: Bin Laden Killed
So that only took 10 years and god only knows how much money. Mission accomplished! (for real this time of course). Glad they finally got him but I can't help but feel it's a bit anti-climatic.
