Re: Mike Lombardi Links Kyle Orton to the Redskins
Might want to check his numbers in Denver, he played well in '09 and '10 before Tebow-mania took over. And he wasn't traded to KC, they picked him up on waivers a few weeks after Cassel got hurt. He's not a franchise QB but he's a solid vet. We could do a lot worse, like Grossman/Beck.
Orton was released because he was going to become a free agent at seasons end and the Broncos new he was not going to be resigned. The Redskins did not want to pick up Orton on waivers because he had a 8 million dollar contract for the season. So why would we sign him off waivers when he will be a free agent at the end of the season. We can get him for alot less now if we think he is better than Rex. I say they are even but Rex has more time in our offense which gives him the edge.
You don't dream very high do you?

Come on folks, Orton? His stats might be marginally better but he's definitly not franchise material. You guys will blast me for wanting Flynn who has not been let go, cut, fired, or anything and has done well in the limited time given, but you are all over the Orton idea? WTF?

I feel like I'm watching "In Living Color" again with the "Lowered Expectations." lol.

Brees would be a great pick up but I just can't see the Saints letting him get away. P.Manning would be nice "IF" he can play or "IF" he can be on page to helping to coach the Rookie's until he can play, but it sounds like he's possessive of his job while in Indy and not giving the second stringer practice time so he might not be into coaching until he learns he can't play ever again or he decides to stop playing.

I'd do whatever it takes to get Flynn and offer him the starting job. I'd then trade TW (a 1st round Pick that has lived up to that his billing) to the Rams because they need a LT and Orakpo (another 1st round pick who's better playing in a 4-3) for their #2 pick. I'd then draft Blackmon with the #2, and trade back the #6 for more picks and take either Weeden (because Weeden and Blackmon have a connection) or I'd take one of the other QB's... Tannehill, Cousins, Wilson. Wilson has suprised me and might would think hard about taking him. This way we have 2 new QB's one being a Vet one a Rookie and could let Grossman and Beck go. Plus we have the top WR in the draft to compliment Hankerson.
Only on Madden Franchise could this ever happen. Keep dreaming bro

I rather bring back Jason Campbell then sign K.Orton. I dont see either one of these signings happening for the Redskins.
Yeah, because he got hurt. I remember him burning us on a bomb to Marshall and we probably lose that game if he didn't get hurt.

I had forgotten this one until you mentioned it...good call Matty.
I second this thought. Why sign K.Orton when he would spend the off season learning a new offense. Might as well resign Rex and draft a QB in the 2nd rd if we cannot draft RGIII. I know Grossman isnt the long time solution but at least he can run our offense until our Rookie gets a grasp on the offense. Orton may take care of the ball more but that doesnt mean he would produce more wins if he became our starter. Rather keep Rex until we have a better option.
Exactly. If Orton was our starter we're still a 5 win team.
Henne is the only guy that I would look at. And I find it hard to believe that Miami's just going to let him walk. Especially if they're going to run Green Bay's style of offense.
Agree. If we cannot get Bradford, Luck or RG3 through the draft and Brees and A. Smith do resign which is most likely to happen. And Peyton is not healthy or just signs with another team...then Henne should be our free agent target.

Henne with Cousins/Foles in 2nd round and then Keenum in the 5th/6th would be my preference going into the season at QB.

Agreed! Time to stop slapping bandaids on the problem.

Have fun with that! More 5-11 finishes for that team

I like this... no one really knows what we are doing. That means no one can hose us in a deal because we aren't all in any place.

Schefter gets paid for this? Wow...Who'd have thought the Redskins would be considering all these potential options???

I believe you are correct. I don't think we'll see BA make any stupid decisions because some of the fans base gets....extreme from time to time.
