Well, the pictures don't prove anything. It's just some of the people across the 4chan/reddit crew pointed out things they noticed in the pictures. You can't go off anything with these pictures really, but they are interesting and I'm sure the FBI will be investigating it. This is why you can't jump the gun on anything. Anyway, here's a few more examples of the helpers Mr. Rogers was talking about in his famous quote: Boston Marathon Tragedy Met With Unbelievable Acts Of Kindness

Speaking of the Reddit crew, looks like they should go in the Best/Worst thread as a Best feature. It's all good my man. Get some sleep if you can. You'll be no good to anybody if your body breaks down from lack of rest. :( |
re: Update: Second Boston Marathon Suspect Captured
Ive got to say i'm surprised so many people are assuming this was done by ME or NK terrorists. Had this been an attack by "professional" terrorists, i think it would have been more "successful." Someone also would have taken credit. It was a horrible tragedy, but it smells of a job by one or two nutt jobs who found instructions on how to make a pressure cooker bomb on the internet. If thats the case, i'm sure they didnt do a good job of covering their tracks. Hopefully the Feds will find them and kill them in short order.

re: Update: Second Boston Marathon Suspect Captured
It is unfortunate that real heroism is only recognized in tragedies. What I mean is, heroism doesn't just "happen", it takes a history of "right" thinking, teaching and practice for folks to understand the need and have the will to put self-interest aside when it would seem self-interest is at its highest value.
No one knows how they will react in a crisis - I am sure we would all like to think we would step up. I know that I hope I would. I firmly believe, however, those not familiar with the concept of self sacrifice for the good of others or who do not practice it in the little ways in their daily lives will be ill-equipped to exhibit these traits when their own lives are under threat. So as we celebrate the heroes of Boston, as we did the heroes of 9/11, let us remember to, at all times, celebrate the virtues they demonstrated in crisis, to exhibit those characteristics in our lives as best as we can and to teach (and preach) the virtue of those characteristics to our youth. Who knows ... you may be reliant on someone making just such a choice in the future. Peace be to those injured & the families of those killed and may justice rain down on the guilty with the full power and might that right brings to the fore. |

Good post Joe.

Investigators believe they have identified a suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, a source who has been briefed on the investigation told CNN's John King.
Cue the call for more surveillance on US streets. I would like to see a less passive citizenry. |

Cue the call for more surveillance on US streets. I would like to see a less passive citizenry.
So next time I see a man carrying a large nylon bag down to the gym, I'll tackle him? I don't get what you mean, in relation to this type of attack. Everyone focusing on the runners, a man calmly places a bag down, maybe acts like he forgot something in the store, then a few minutes later he doesn't return, and a new group of people have made there way into the area. Hard to know if a keen eye at the exact right moment might have prevented this, but certainly the cameras on the street would give the robot judges exactly what they need to see for evidence. |
