Not surprised Shanahan is in the lead here. Similar poll is on Extremeskins, and he's winning there too.
I applaud you Warpath.
Yeah I found that pretty interesting. Is it a case of they just don't want change or they really think he's the best man for the job? |
Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach
Thanks for the approval Warpath... Like most, longtime listener, first time caller... With that said, I say Dan should honor the contract he gave Mike. I would not welcome a contract extension, and I'm not sure if Mike would stay without one. If he did accept that offer, then I still say this is the best course of action...
Thanks again for the account |
Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach
I would just love, just love, if all they offered Mike was OC for next year.

I applaud you Warpath.
30% of the Warpath thinks a guy winning 30% of his games this year should be retained. That seems in line with reality. |

1. He could be fired but the idea of a demotion is ridiculous. 2. Please stop suggesting that MS ought to be disrespected or punished. |

If the Redskins had been 10-0 there wouldn't have been a poll, so nobody (0%) would have voted for him. |
Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach
Mike deserves
1. No respect 2. Who cares. He hired his son and cares only about the shanahan legacy 3. so again F him. Gaddafi his career and his name. Its well deserved. If you haven't seen overhyped coaching before -boom textbook example |
Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach
it's only because no one mentioned either seems plausible or likely to do much better. I voted other, but i mean, i have no idea who we'd be able to get that's a good bet.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach
Mike gives us the best chance to win next year... Now you could make the argument that it would be better in the long run to go ahead and make the change, and I can't really argue that point... Let him coach another year without an extension contract if he will, make some roster and coordinator adjustments, and spend that extra 18 million wisely in FA...
IIIsus will have a full offseason to work on his mechanics (crossing fingers he stays healthy) and improve as a passer... I'm really not ready to blow it up and start all over... The Grass is not always greener on the other-side my fellow Skin fans... |

or 70% of people don't want him. Don't forget there are also far more choices than if this is a true coaching search. Personally I find it more disturbing that 15% of people want Jon Gruden. |

Could have a lot to do with the mindset of the community these days. We've seen so much change that maybe we want to see what a bit of structure would look like? That's my only theory. Personally, anything can happen in a year. So, I just want to see what Mike would do in his final year knowing this is the end of the line. With some money to spend, RG3 has an offseason working on the offense and with his WR's, etc. But I really don't see how you can keep Haslett. |

While Mike isn't being directly disrespected as he deserves, the reports of his disastrous defenses and lopsided win/loss record in Washingtion are mounting. The bottom line story is he's not deserved the HC gig in a very long time and rightfully should be limited to offense. That's my point. |

Haslett, and whoever the special teams coach is has to go and go back to the 4-3. We do not have the personal for a 3-4 (and yes our secondary will need to addressed no matter which defense we run). |
