So he beat out a shitty LT. Also, didn't some of the teams the past few weeks sport backups LTs?

I'm for signing him, but it would have to be a average salary. (much like his play)
5.5 sacks the last 4 games is quality production regardless of who you are playing. He's winning the battles he should. We can't say the same for Kerrigan can we?

If Rak ends up with double digit sacks you can bet an "average" contract offer isn't going to cut it.

It would be a huge mistake to overpay him. I would not. I agree with you about Kerrigan though, guy has gone unnoticed the past 5 games.
It took Rak a while to get going this year coming off that injury but I think now it's clear we need to lock him up for the long term.
I think the FO needs to be careful not to overpay.

It's over folks. An uninspired effort by all but RGIII and probably Cofield. We are abysmal in so aspects of the game, it boggles the mind. Our punting situation deteriorates every week (why aren't we evaluating possible replacements?). The o-line is piss poor save Trent. They didn't even run block particularly well last night. The WR situation is also poor even putting aside Garcon's terrible day. Aldrich Robinson had zero catches despite a lot of PT. On D, zero push from the D line except on June rare instance Cofield. Bowen, Jenkins, Baker, and Golston are simply not starters in this league. Wilson was not good (again) and this wasn't Hall's best outing either. The safety play is awful - opponents' TEs just run unchallenged through the middle of the field (what, you think our LBs can cover?)

And the coaching is awful. Collinsworth, who I respect as an analyst, is often right. And I generally agree that stability and consistency lead to good results, and that a revolving door of coaches is very disruptive. But the consistency we are getting with the Shanahan regime is consistently fluctuating between mediocrity and outright suck (save for the inspired second hard run last season). But teams can bounce back and show significant improvement from year to year - look at the Cardinals, Panthers, Chiefs, and Lions - all very much improved from last year. And I don't think the salary cap is a big excuse. The Chiefs signed Alex Smith and the Lions got Bush, but none of the other teams did a lot in free agency last year.

We need new coaches across the board, period. I have never been a "fire the coach" kind of guy because I think it is so horribly disruptive. But this is no longer justifiable.

I'm not saying over pay, but he should get paid top 10-15 money at his position.

When the schedule was announced, this was one of the games I was really looking forward to. Thought this would be one of the keys to the Giants winning the division, just like last year's game at RFK (I don't care what it is really called) was the difference. Just a disappointing lousy season for both teams. After the Giants lost last week, part of me was hoping they would lose out to show management that major changes were needed. Now, if they manage to finish 7-9 or 8-8, they might be under the impression that it was a terrible start that just put them behind the 8-ball and they could never get out of it.

He leads the team in quarterback hits (13), tackles for loss (11) and, according to ProFootballFocus.com, ranks 13th among all 3-4 outside linebackers in quarterback hurries (24). Profootballfocus.com also ranks the 27-year-old as the fifth most productive player at his position this season.

Gotta wonder if Kerrigan is more banged up than we know.

Remember the Chiefs last year? That's who we are this year. Yes the Redskins have holes at ILB, RT, RG, DL, S. Next year the CB and S should improve, Thomas will be back, Rambo will be improved, Amerson. I would target Jonathan Martin (i don't care what people say, he can play), see if Cleveland doesn't protect Mack and get him too.

You want someone who quit on his team? I mean I know Incognito is an asshole, but I dont think Martin comes out looking good at all. I wasnt impressed by his couple statements to the media. I dont know if i want someone this sensative on the team. I dont think he was playing that good either.

Do you know the whole story of what happened? The results of the investigation will be out soon, let's wait and see what comes out before saying he's a quitter.

Orakpo has played well and with Kerrigan being absent I don't see how the skins don't pay him. He has played well against bad and good tackles. One of his sacks was against joe staley who is a top 10 tackle for sure, arguebably a top 5 tackle.

If the redskins had other good pass rushers or depth at that position I would feel comfortable letting him go. The skins have neither of those things so they have to pay him.

Re: Skins Giants postgame

Well, after last night, anybody who pins this on RGIII is a moron. After last night, I don't ever want to hear anything else out of Pierre Garcon and especially Santana Moss about Robert Griffin III. How much leadership did Moss show last night getting an unsportsmanlike conduct foul? How much leadership did Garcon show dropping passes and fumbling that last pass into the hands of the DB? Or kicking the ball in the stands? Griffin did what he could to make plays. How can he make plays when Chester and Polumbus consistently refuses to block? How do you let someone like Justin Tuck have a free shot to the quarterback? Tuck had 2 1/2 sacks all year before last night. He had 4 sacks in last night's game alone. Don't talk to me about Griffin's inability to read defenses and refusal to go through his progressions. Take a few snaps behind THAT offensive line and tell me how well you're able to go through your reads.

Secondly, I keep hearing people say that Jordan Reed is glass. You know, Art Monk had some injury issues early on in his career. Wound up having a hall of fame career. Reed is going to be something special in this league. He got a freakin' concussion. It's not like he stayed out of the game because his pinky hurts. You deal away Reed and you're no better than Vinny Cerrato. In fact, you're worse. So shut up about Jordan Reed. Seeing Fred Davis consistently drop easy catches should show you why he was deactivated several weeks ago. Davis is trash. Plain and simple. He needs to go, along with Chris Chester and especially Tyler Polumbus. Santana Moss is still capable of making plays, but for every good play he makes, he cancels it out with stupid mistakes or drops. So, sorry Moss, I loved ya a few years ago, but you need to go as well. And Aldrick Robinson. So much speed and elusiveness, but all for nothing if you can't catch the freakin' football.

And finally, the #1 rushing attack in the league, and where did Alfred Morris go in the second half? This has been a constant gripe of mine all season long. Alfred Morris is a play maker. And you go away from him in the second half? WTF Kyle Shanahan? Yes, maybe Roy Helu is faster and more appropriate for the no huddle offense, but in the end, Morris is one of the best rushers in the league. YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR BEST PLAYERS ON THE FIELD! It's not like the 'skins were ever behind by a lot of points. Kyle Shanahan has done this so many times during the season. Morris catches steam the longer the game goes on. Kind of like how John Riggins was back in the glory days. You wear the defense down with a heavy dose of Alfred Morris - THAT is when you crank up the passing. Kyle Shanahan always seems to go away too early from the running game. I just don't understand that all.

I figure most of us are probably in agreement with the defense. The secondary is trash. That's nothing new. It needs to be badly upgraded. I know there was some hate being thrown toward Orakpo this year, but I think it's a mistake to cut him loose. I think you need to keep him around. Adding some depth to that defensive line will improve that front play - and we'll see more of what we expect from Rak and Kerrigan. I don't like Jim Haslett as well and will be very disappointed if he is retained after this season, but I do wonder if Haslett is given an improved secondary and depth on that defensive line, if he would fair better? I fear, though, there are so many issues with that defense that one off season is not going to fix that.

And I don't even want to talk about special teams. They're horrible. 'nuff said.

I just want this freakin' season to hurry up and end. It's a nightmare to say the least.
