Post game and what needs to be done going forward.
AP isn’t the answer here, besides the fact he’s on the downside of his career he’s best in a power scheme, not the type of running game we’ve got right now.

Re: Post game and what needs to be done going forward.
meh, he's a hof back who could adjust to whatever scheme run...hof just don't produce because of a system. But he is a guy who needs to get fed the ball and gets better as the game goes on.
Man, I woulda loved to see AP and CT 1-2 punch. 1 or 2 year deal...certainly not the answer long term BUT def a player who could push you into the playoffs WHILE Slow Rob and Perine come along. Perine was never...NEVER...gonna be the answer this year. He needed work, especially after a disappointing preseason. |
Re: Post game and what needs to be done going forward.
Scheme was a problem for him in New Orleans.

Re: Post game and what needs to be done going forward.
Every week someone goes down and is out for the year. This week it's Compton and Kelley.

I don't know about that...there was def a log jam at that position. Ingram and Kumara...we don't have that type of talent here. Ingram has really turned into a monster...but has that shaky injury history. AP was insurance for him imo. I don't know...hindsight is 20/20 but AP woulda done well here. He may have extended his career in AZ. |

Let me ask a question to the more educated posters here:
When / If it is determined that the Redskins are mathematically eliminated from the playoff chase, do you bench Kirk Cousins to keep him healthy? I just think given the uncertainty of his 2018 season, do we risk injuring him in a lost season? I think if he got hurt bad this year, it would not only affect our ability to trade him for value / high picks, but also affect his value as a player, as i don't think a team would want to break the bank to sign him depending on what kind of injury he would be coming back from. Seeing the talk of the giants benching Eli to protect him just got me thinking.... |
Re: Post game and what needs to be done going forward.
No, you play to win the game.

If he gets hurt then if anything it means we can sign him cheaper and in a Machiavellian sort of way so it would almost be to our advantage for him to get hurt not that you injury on any player ever. |

Understood. Thank you guys for explaining. |

Re: Post game and what needs to be done going forward.
Kirk won't sit even if we didn't win another game. He's not the problem at all. In fact he's had a good year once again.
I haven't been on jays case all year but yesterday was a disaster, he was clearly over matched and was clueless on a few drives. That 3&1 and 4&1 to CT on both was Jim Zorn like. Jay just never seems to get over the hump either and this is year 4 now.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk
Jay is Norv 2.0. Great offensive coordinator, but a lax leader. Both headed teams that made just enough mistakes to beat themselves. Whether it's Gus Frerotte head-butting a wall and knocking himself out of the game, Michael Westbrook taking his helmet off and penalizing us out of winning FG range, or Josh Doctson inexplicably tripping on a "turf-monster" when he's wide open for a TD, I've seen this movie before. Not saying we should fire Jay, but his leadership (or lack thereof), and his team's inconsistencies reminds me of Norv's tenure as HC. |
