I agree. Plus the new HC may or may not want him the same was Jay didn't want RG3. Of course anything regarding the new HC's use of Haskins will be subject to the approval of Snyder.

Should have fired Jay after last season and started over with a new HC. Also should have cleaned house and traded off assets like Trent, Kerrigan, Norman, etc., and went the nuclear route and cut Alex Smith. This team is never proactive, always reactive. Big reason why we're always spinning our wheels.

Im hearing a lot of the same complaints over and over...but this statement really resonates because the personnel decision making follows this type of 'No plan" agenda. Did we really need to give out the second or third highest contract in Free agency this past Offseason all for "Splash" effect? Did we have to knee jerk a Alex Smith trade, for 2 years knowing we would never truly commit to Cousins?

ETC...

Jordan Reed needs to go as well. We have to get rid of all of the past mistakes.

Agreed on Reed, TW, Norman, Richardson, Moses (worth a ham sandwich), Scherff, Vernon Davis, etc. we need to get as many draft picks as possible for the 2020 draft and the new HC.

Biggest chance to get first rate HC is to fire BA, which remains a very remote possibility. Offer the HC position with an open GM position. Take Snyder out of personnel loop.

All the ex-players on the radio, Cooley, B-Mitch, Doc, Riggo, all wonder why they waste a roster spot on the guy. So do I. We have 16 million dollars a year of tight ends between Reed and Davis, one can't stay on the field, one can't catch, and both can't block. How dumb is that?

I doubt Reed will ever play in the NFL again. Vernon Davis is old and was kept on even though he is a terrible blocking TE. VD was one of Gruden’s pets, same as Colt McCoy, who will be gone next year.

If the team REALLY wants a HC like Tomlin, then Snyder & BA are going to have to surrender some of their power. I’ve seen article after article which rightly blames the two-decade long losing streak of Danny Snyder, ON Snyder. Only a fool or someone who just wants to CASH IN, will come here under the current management circumstances.

BA may live in LA-LA land and and pretend everything is fine, but serious NFL guys like Tomlin aren’t even going to consider the Redskins, unless the Snyder/BA AMATEUR HOUR ends.

Finally I understand why BA hasn’t done anything with TW. TW IS THE BAIT TO GET THE STEELERS TO GIVE UP TOMLIN.

He’s not ready.

But the reasons why he’s not ready are the real issue.

-Jay didn’t want to draft him

-Jay has made no effort to prepare him (no first team reps at all, didn’t build the offense around him-Kylar Murray was a 1 year starter at OU and is having success in an offense and scheme built around him)

-The QBs that Jay actually WANTS to play STILL don’t play well- suggesting that Jay wouldn’t even know how to prepare him IF he wanted to

-The team isn’t good enough to support a rookie QB

First, why are you speak of Jay in the present tense. Jay was was fired almost a month ago.

Second, you neglected to mention the single biggest reason he’s not ready:

Haskins doesn’t know the playbook. He’s been here 6 months and doesn’t know the playbook. That’s 100% on him.

Alex Smith had problems picking up the offense as well. Just saying, don't kill the rookie when he's never had to learn a pro offense before and his college system didn't prep him at all for this.

That and they let him come out of college with sloppy footwork and other fundamental issues. It is going to take time to unlearn years of bad habits.

As a backup, Haskins only job has been to learn the playbook. There's no excuse to be as clueless as he is 6 months in. APs comments would seem to indicate Haskins never really bothered. From what Sheehan has said, Haskin is the kind of guy that will put forth effort if he's "the guy" but completely not interested and disengaged if he's not. If he had been putting in the work from Day 1, perhaps he would be more prepared to be the starter.

Re: Will the Current Treatment of HASKINS Effect His Tenure and Performance with the Redskins?

Question: will the Redskins use their top draft pick on a QB in 2020, if Haskins makes no progress this season?

Usually drafted QB get up to two seasons to prove themselves. Will he have that time or will the get a new QB draftee and either: have a QB competition or just dump Haskins for what they can get?
