Re: Around the NFL … week 4
The Urban Meyer situation in Jacksonville has reached a crisis point, especially in the locker room. One player told me, 'He has zero credibility in that stadium. He had very little to begin with.'
Mike Silver WOW |

He is totally miserable. The NFL ain't for everyone and it certainly isn't for Meyer. His comments about "playing Alabama every week" pretty much says it all. Also he didn't even fly home w/ the team last week after the game. I can see a player maybe doing this but not the head coach. |
Re: Around the NFL … week 4
Jacksonville deserves what they are getting with him. It was never going to work out with him.

Yep, stupid ass hire. Plenty of legit NFL coaches that deserved that opportunity. |

Yup, it was a flashy and desperate hire. |
Re: Around the NFL … week 4
Just the sort of hire Snyder would have made

Guessing Khan wants to see what'll happen - if the Jags continue losing maybe Meyer will decide to bail and Khan won't have to pay off his contract to dump him. Supposedly the big issue with the squad is him skipping the team plane - never seen a HC do that before. It's one thing if it's the offseason and you're caught getting some strange - but to skip the flight to hang back and have some drinks/get some strange? In a league where coaches are always dissecting the film the day after the game it's a terrible look. If players think you aren't committed you are gonna lose the locker room real quick. |

@AdamSchefter
In-season surprise: Cowboys released LB Jaylon Smith, per source. And given this: @spotrac Wow. Jaylon Smith had 5 years, $50.75M left on his contract. His release leaves behind $16.6M of dead cap to the #Cowboys 2021: $9.8M ($7.2M cash) 2022: $6.8M ***************** You have to wonder what has he done to get released by the Cowpukes. |

He was as bad as Bostic, but a lot more expensive. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |
