Re: Coaching Changes
Lot of speculation that McKenzie will bring in someone from Green Bay. Philbin? Moss?...Favre? (I kid, I kid)
|
Re: Coaching Changes
Wonder if this means no more Palmer? Wow talk about a cluster **** organization
|
Re: Coaching Changes
Funny if they would have beaten San Diego the would have made the playoffs. wow, but they did play dead kinda like the skins in the last week.

I wouldn't touch that organization with a 1,000 mile pole. They have no 1st rounders for the next two years, and basically no draft picks this year except for the compensatory pick for Gallery/NA. The team isn't getting any younger and is only going to go downhill with the lack of talent via the draft. Also, I think their salary cap is dreadful if I remember correctly. Forecast looks bleak. |
Re: Coaching Changes
sounds like Oakland is going to tear it down and rebuild

They were ****ing stupid for the Palmer trade SMH, the skins always get clowned and rightfully so but we aren't as bad off as Oakland, don't be shocked to see DMAC, Seymour, Palmer, all gone |

With what? They have no draft in which to rebuild with, and their are in cap trouble. According to latest cap figures, they were only $5million under the cap back in August 2011. Re: Coaching Changes
I feel bad for the Raiders. Before Campbell and Run DMC injuries, they seem to have had a pretty decent team. They were really stupid on the Palmer trade and made a stupid owner (Mike Brown) look like a genius. They are pretty f'ed up now though. Still, that f'ed up team managed to get more wins that we did. I know they have no future, but we are really in no position to hold our noses up to any team.

Jackson dealing 2 firsts for Palmer is probably what cost him his job.
Jackson handled many personnel decisions in recent months after Davis' death. Jackson, who just completed his first season as head coach after being elevated from offensive coordinator, pulled off the highly debated October trade for quarterback Carson Palmer after starter Jason Campbell broke his collarbone.
He should be fired for that trade alone, regardless even if they did make the playoffs. |

Only because they are in the shitty AFC West. Put them in AFC East or AFC North and they are well below .500 |

They still won games. Our team has lost a lot of games that we "should've won" over the past couple of seasons. As I said, they have no future and will likely be a 2 or 3 win team over the next couple of seasons. But our team has been pretty mediocre and has made bad decisions over the past couple of seasons. Not horrible ones like that idiotic Palmer trade, but still bad moves. I get it that the arrow may be pointing slightly up with our organization. But let's not act like we're the Packers or the Patriots, and pretend like we have been a much better organization that then Raiders. |

Re: Coaching Changes
I wonder if they can get some value for McFadden? When healthy, that dude is a beast. I am sure a lot of teams could use a player like that.
|
Re: Coaching Changes
Well many said CINCY was gonna be horrible so u just never know, coaching makes a huge difference but I just don't see it in OAK.
DMAC is never healthy I'd give no more than a 3rd |

DMAC is never healthy I'd give no more than a 3rd
I think this was based on Dalton's play. I mean if they get a good coach in there, they have some talent. They would just need to get a decent o-line to protect Palmer. I think Oakland's defense is pretty good, but if they blow up the team that may be a different story. |
Re: Coaching Changes
The raiders...the biggest headscratchers of a franchise. Just when things were looking good. They decide to rebuild. I thought Al Davis was dead.
|
Re: Coaching Changes
Flaky Raiders are flaky.
|
Re: Coaching Changes
Pat Jones former Raiders assistant now a radio personality in OKC knows the team very well and was close to Al Davis up until he passed, he called this firing the day McKenzie was hired and he seems to think Oakland will completely clean house and hire Winston Moss right after the playoffs and could possibly go after Matt Flynn . Crazy stuff.

Re: Coaching Changes
They have no 1st rounders for the next two years
This is news to the rest of us.
Oakland could be a playoff team next year, or they could be in contention for the first pick. It will be interesting to see what they do with the contracts of veterans like Seymour, Palmer, Carlisle, Curry, John Henderson, Kevin Boss, etc. In a true rebuild, they would get rid of most or all those guys. If they keep Seymour, Palmer, and Curry, it's likely going to be in an effort to compete. |

Re: Coaching Changes
I would assume Palmer wouldn't be back but again who knows
Well, it's not like the Raiders can replace Palmer without picking until the third round. If the $7 million of cap space they can free up is worth more than having him quarterback their team, I'm sure they'll do it, but it's not possible for them to improve from the outside.

Dallas fired Dave Campo again he was sec coach

Campo has a chance to become football's Billy Martin.

I just don't understand why Jackson would go out and get Carson Palmer. He's just not worth what they gave up.
