Re: The Best and Worst Of Our Future
CBS wanted to get some photographs and video of the team. It was to assemble those shots and video you see on television as the network cuts out to commercials, and when it comes back and surrounds game statistics and such with players. They are the photos and video where the players are walking through smoke or striking a pose. The producers asked for the five starters for their shots.
As they were assembling the team, coaches, and agenda, Theus pulled Day aside: "Scott, it's all of us or none of us."

The shoot begins, and with 13 players as opposed to five, inevitably things are dragging a bit. The producers begin picking up the pace and pressure to finish up so everyone can get out of there. But Theus again won't budge. You see, it was important to Theus that CBS include Torey Burston--the VCU walk on who gives effort every day alongside the scholarship athletes--in the individual shots. The implication was clear. It was all of them or none of them. Theus wanted to make sure that every single player who puts on a VCU uniform and gives the spirit that Shaka Smart talks about from the bench was part of this moment. To Theus, it was about the team, not scholarship status.
Leadership Matters...Or, The Beauty of the Senior Point Guard... - VCU Hoops Darius Theus = Best of our future. |

Barefoot homeless guy apparently has apartment, 30 pairs of shoes 1 hr ago Jeffrey Hillman, better known as "the guy in that viral photo that a cop gave all those shoes and socks to," was recently profiled by the New York Post counting a stack of bills on the way back from "work" in Times Square. The Rev. In an open letter to UC President Susan Herbst, self-described feminist student Carolyn Luby wrote that the redesigned team logo will intimidate women and empower rape culture. UConn basketball coach Geno Auriemma said the logo “is looking right through you and saying, ‘Do not mess with me.’ This is a streamlined, fighting dog, and I cannot wait for it to be on our uniforms and court.” In response, Luby wrote, “What terrifies me about the admiration of such traits is that I know what it feels like to have a real life Husky look straight through you and to feel powerless, and to wonder if even the administration cannot ‘mess with them.’ And I know I am not alone.” There were two sexual assaults at UConn involving athletes in the past year, Luby claimed. A New Hampshire man who thought he had a decent ball toss says he lost his life savings—or about $2,600—playing a carnival game he claims was rigged. Henry Gribbohm told WBZ-TV that he was attempting to win an Xbox Kinect at the Manchester carnival when things went awry. The 30-year-old from Epsom, N.H., was playing a game called Tubs of Fun in which contestants toss balls into a tub, but the balls kept popping out. “It’s not possible that it wasn’t rigged,” Gribbohm said. “You just get caught up in the whole ‘I’ve got to win my money back.’” Gribbohm lost $300, WBZ-TV reports, "went home to get $2,300 more and soon lost all of that as well." Manchester police are investigating the incident, and New Hampshire-based Fiesta Shows, which produces the traveling carnival, is pulling Tubs of Fun for the time being. Gribbohm, who managed to win a stuffed banana with dreadlocks before dropping $2,600, says he's considering a lawsuit. “For once in my life I happened to become that sucker,” Gribbohm said. lololololololololololol |

People can say what they want about our judicial system, but if the guy that ran his sick and twisted camp ran it in the US, he'd get the book thrown at him.
