DHB will be a Raven
No free agent pick WR pick ups this year. |
Is Michael huff any good
He's worth a look. Young and versatile but I read on PFF that he's kind of bad in coverage. We need coverage guys. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
We need to jump on DHB, he's actually a number 2 IMO. Think about his speed along Garcons? Nasty
Why not draft Ryan Swope in the 3rd round if he is available? DHB runs fast but he does not play fast from what I have seen of Oakland. Granted I they really are never on TV unless its a night game and who watches those when Oakland is playing. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Huff would be a good look for us. Our system would free him to make plays like when he was at Texas.

I am thinking there will be plenty of suitors. If he played for the Redskins last year he would have been our number one receiver. |

Jeff McClain saying revis to Tampa bay.

Check our forum rules we've always stressed the need to post sources. It's got nothing to do with SS not being here. |

I like Cyprien starting for us anyway. Hell maybe we can draft the defensive ROY! More playing time rookies get the better they are.

Yeah, no kidding. Wallace's deal is off the hook. Stephen Ross more and more reminds me of a young Dan Snyder. |

Injury history gotta scare us and many, which is probably the right move. But I hope like hell we dont overpay Talib, that would be the bigger risk imo. |

Doesn't appear Bruce and Mike want to go down that road. If they haven't done it by this point, I doubt they will. Which I don't blame them, its the smartest move you can make for the future, even if it does hamstring us a bit this year. |
That's the beauty of capgate, we literally can't overpay anyone!
Just because you have Cap space you should not use it all. Football is such a true team sport. Because player A works in system A doesn't mean Player A will work in system B. Just like the draft not necessarily the best players are in round one. Look at the Bella of the ball FA from a few years back he is out of a job; Nnamdi Asomugha. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
If we had Seattle or San Frans roster, I'd be all for it. We need a lot more then 1 or 2 pieces though.
|
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
I think we can count the Skins out as FA players this year. (not a bad thing) Not enough room to do anything, but I feel we'll most likely go for some bargain basement guys to fill in until we can replace them.

Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
Flacco's fault?
Baltimore has cut/traded/can't afford: Boldin Kruger Pollard Ellerbe Reed Lewis*retired* They signed Canty from the Giants...I approve of that move for obvious reasons. I say we go after Pollard, he's only 28 and not too pricey. Chris Houston signed now...another CB off the list. AJ Smith is probably to thank...we're talking to Cason for the second time according to: Antoine Cason - San Diego Chargers - 2013 Player Profile - Rotoworld.com https://twitter.com/john_keim/statuses/311835420394672128 |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
don't see it being Flacco's fault, his cap hit is around 7M this year. I think they weren't happy with the defense, and see this as a chance to clean house, and not pay huge payouts to avg guys. (Boldin I don't get though)

This isn't Flacco's fault. They were in cap trouble before Flacco, and they wouldn't have been able to sign many of those guys even if they didn't sign Flacco. Years of paying big money to defensive stars has caught up to them. At some point, you have to pay the piper. I expect the Ravens to take a huge nose dive. |
Re: Around the NFL Free Agency Thread 2013
We said this last year too...but Tampa Bay has a TON of cap space to spend. Last year they got VJax and some solid linemen.
This year, they should make some huge moves again. They're really stingy with their money though. They can and should spend more. Dashon Goldson is close to signing there. Revis is a rumor. They've spoken to Grimes, Landry, Avril Derrick Cox and Sean Smith. So far, the Colts and Dolphins have been making some good moves. |

That was a total overpay. They'll be asking him to restructure (aka..take a pay cut) in two years. |

I wouldn't either. In fact, I would be overjoyed. |

I wouldn't rule out the possibility as a last resort, but it still seems unlikely.
Well reason I'm saying that is because we would have to replace him with one of these other corners on the market and I haven't seen or heard anything about us talking to any of them besides talib I think? |

Good. He's injury prone and IMO theres a better William and Mary CB in the draft |
