Keim made the point that Murphy is better at ST's and could be active whereas if they kept Minnifield he would be one if the inactive every week. Good insight and information.

It was reported by NFL.com that he was cut early today, around noon or even earlier. Some reports had him being cut at 8 or 9 am. They wouldnt announce they are cutting him this morning if they thought they could trade him near the deadline. From what I read, he got a 500k signing bonus, and has another 500k guaranteed unless he plays somewhere else. I personally think he knew he wouldnt be able to sign for anything other than the vet minimum and figured the 500k for not playing was better than only getting an additional 300-400k above that if he does play. |

Don't be lost Beck is our ace in the hole. If Griffin and Cousins go down Grossman and PW are smokescreens, Beck is the real hero. |

But from a competitor's standpoint, I can't see that happening. Winfield all of a sudden felt like he can't play anymore? Unless he's hurt I don't believe it until he officially retires. |

Keep in mind, he is 36. Im sure he realizes that there are no more big contracts in his future if he keeps playing and no guarantees of a ring. |

On Pat White and Rex G. If Cousins and III are 100% healthy after four games I would take a long look at getting rid of both to bring back the d players. I still want an explanation as to why we are keeping white. I have heard the rumors about trying to trade him, but I don't see that as a possibility given what he showed during preseason. One reason I can see is the RO portion of our play book vein exposed to the league, but honestly how much of what we run in the preseason will actually make it to our regular season game plan. |
Re: Redskins Cuts
anyone wanting to keep lewis or williams over grossman is either crazy, or dating/related to lewis and/or williams.
i think chase, williams, and jamison should make the PS. we'll need OL, LB, and maybe a safety there, but k williams is the only guy we cut that i'm pretty sure will be in the league this year. |

Funny, I recall people telling me I must have been watching the games from another planet. Then....."No way PW. Is making this roster." Now the only reason we have him is for trade bait......but he's not worth anything. K.Shanahan has some bond with Rex. They should just make him a coach and down the road Kyle can be named HC and Rex QB Coach. |

Re: Redskins Cuts
We have a super bowl starting QB, as a 3rd stringer. He's a spot behind where he should be on most NFL teams (2nd stringer). I'm very happy with Rex as a backup (or backup backup)

Beyond that, perhaps he's insurance in case Cousins's foot sprain is slow to heal. |
Re: Redskins Cuts
Im shocked White made the cut, especially after I just finished watching the Tampa game,he has no touch on the ball at all and I'm just very unimpressed with him.I thought Royster looked especially good in the tampa game,I actually like him better than Helu
I don't think White will be here for very long.
I think he'll be here a week; mainly so the Eagles can't sign him to run our scout offense. I'm assuming Griffin III and Cousins are 100% healthy as well. I like Pat White, but I don't really love keeping 4 QB's. |

Grossman at QB this season is limited, White at QB this season (against 1st stringers) is a joke. Any of the young WRs we cut should be in White's sopt. |

Royster probably won't see very many carries during the season. He's #3 on the depth chart. He'll probably see less than 50 carries the whole year*. *Barring injury. |
Re: Redskins Cuts

I disagree. Well likely trade cousins in the offseason. If not, he walks as a free agent after next year. Grossman will be 34 next year and 35 in 2015. So what's our long term backup plan for rg3? White showed promise and Perhaps he can be groomed. If so, he's exactly the type of QB we want backing up RG3. |

I think we should and will. If he gets that exposure it's because RG went down again, in which we def wanna keep cousins. Either way he makes sense on this roster. Pat White has a long way to go before deserving 2nd or 3rd string, and will never likely be a solid and consistent passer. |

Your right if he doesn't get more playing time this year it probably won't be a 1st rounder. |

We'll have plenty of cap room to retain Cousins beyond 2014/2015 even with a liberal contract. |
